Istanbul-based VLKN @vlknzr(aka Volkan) first got into electronic music as a teenager. In 2003, he first got behind the decks, and still prefers spinning vinyl to this day. His passion for music lead him inevitably to the production side, with his 2021 EP “Senses” released on Schallmauer Records. In addition to numerous guest mix invitations, VLKN curates an excellent regular SoundCloud podcast, “Analog Sessions”.

The "Bipolar Spirit" music project was born in 2019 and created by Adrian Emanuel Alexa. Born in Romania and raised in Italy, he is passionate about the various musical genres of the Romanian and Italian scene. He then dedicated himself to musical production, equipping himself with everything necessary to produce quality music. After some years of practice began his career as a dj in the area of Bologna (Italy) and Gran Canaria (Spain). The best is yet to come, music is the answer.

Sundrej Zohar is an ambitious Dj and Progressive House, Melodic Techno and Electronica Producer from Germany near Saarbrücken. He started djing at the end of the 90s, infected by the vibe of jungle and drum n bass music back then in Munich. His dream has always been to express his creative visions in lively forms, be it through painting or music. 

So he started producing his own tracks and developed his own style in various forms of techno and electronica. His influences also include mysticism, film music, classical music as well as soul and pop ballads. He has released on labels such as Area Verde, Freegrant, Sunexplosion, Pillar and Schallmauer Records.

It is important to Sundrej that music touches and triggers something that cannot be described with words and contains more than simple feelings such as joy or sadness, but encompasses many levels of human existence and possesses soul.

It’s nice 2 have u with us at the series - thank u 4 taking us on ur musical journey, Andrej.

@somerleds is a selector and DJ hailing from Wellington, New Zealand.

He first got turned on to electronic music in the very early 1990s when passed a UK
hardcore cassette in the halls of Wellington College. He then immersed himself in all things
electronic seeking out warehouse raves and outdoor festivals where futuristic soundscapes
from Goa trance to German techno were unleashed upon the ravers.

Somerled's influences have evolved from these early days to now include anything on the
spectrum of electronica from acid house to progressive trance to drum and bass. With many
up and coming producers re-framing the original sounds of the 90s with vastly improved
production tools and techniques, Somerled is now inspired to go back to his roots and mix
tracks close to his heart.

In this specially curated set for the Xpress Yourself series, Somerled takes the listener on a
journey from break-beat beginnings with soulful vocals through acid house and then leads
you deep into the jungle.

GIT Podcast Session 03 # DigMin Into The Mix

It was New Wave and Alternative Rock that drew Digmin into the underground music scene and still today, both styles of music inspire him a good deal. In 1995, electronic music revealed itself at Brussels’ old school club ‘Fuse’ and techno was glued to his musical taste. An amazing set played by Hernan Cattaneo at Liverpool Cathedral in 2011 was the real eye-opener: electronic music and Digmin’s musical background could be merged. It was called Progressive. Right there, electronic music turned into a passion.

In 2017, this passion finally turned into the first steps of creating a sound of his own. He started by listening obsessively to tracks and taught himself to mix a set. It was New Wave and Alternative Rock that drew Digmin into the underground music scene and still today, both styles of music inspire him a good deal. In 1995, electronic music revealed itself at Brussels’ old school club ‘Fuse’ and techno was glued to his musical taste. An amazing set played by Hernan Cattaneo at Liverpool Cathedral in 2011 was the real eye-opener: electronic music and Digmin’s musical background could be merged. It was called Progressive. Right there, electronic music turned into a passion.
 
In 2017, this passion finally turned into the first steps of creating a sound of his own. He started by listening obsessively to tracks and taught himself to mix a set. Well-known producers or small, unknown labels, it didn’t matter at all. Tracks simply have to resonate with those emotions he wants to express.
