DJ and radio host Mahir Kanık was born in 1984 Istanbul. Mahir has been involved with many organizations regarding house, Progressive, Techno and Sub Genres music and since 2009 he has been taking instructions from producers. Almost 3 years long he has performed lively at house parties. Currently he is actively working for Radio Cosmos/Loopsradio which broadcasts from Germany and Turkey.

3 QUESTIONS to FRANCESCA LOMBARDO:

Q: How did you first get in touch with electronic music?

A: I was introduced to electronic music by my uncle on our road trips to Germany from Italy. He used to collect tapes for the trip prior to departure and lecture me and my cousin about the music he would play us and it's origin. Those moments I will never forget and when I listen to those albums he played it still reminds of those car trips like I was there. 

Q: Let's talk about your mix. What do these tracks mean to you?

A: These tracks reminds me of my childhood and some of them are there because my mum or my family used to listen to them. They shaped my musical taste whether I wanted it or not. Some of them came in my life later when I had already left home. However they are all still in my heart and give me a little shiver of memory when I listen to them.

Q: Which future projects are on the way?

A: I have my album closure this year with a great remix package including legends 808 State and The Orb on my latest single “Call Me Wrong”. I also have a couple of collaborations with one of my favourite producer Hannes Bieger coming out in the next couple of months. More to be announced but taking a short break in between to focus on life and new music creations. I also am really excited about the upcoming releases on both my labels Echolette and Echoe this coming year.

Francesca Lombardo - HOW I MET THE BASS #170

Julie Petrecca was born in 1981 in Montreal. Since childhood, Julie is introduced to music as she grows up practically in the recording studio own by her father. He quickly transmits his passion and his interest for the world of music to his daughter. 

In her late teen, she discovers Electronic music and her passion for music grows even more. All these years of musical culture and the well kept connection to this particular universe, Julie's taste develops in several categories of Electronic music from Underground Deep House, Funky House, Jackin, Electronica, Organic House, Progressive House, Melodic House & Techno, Techno, Hard Techno, Tech House and Atmospheric DnB ... nevertheless Julie prefers the underground sounds ;)

Since February 2015, Julie host her own weekly show ‘’The So What! Radioshow’’ presenting DJs and DJ/Producers from all around the world. She’s also involved in her Family radio, ‘’Radio Webphré’’ here in Canada. I personally have been a huge fan of my Canadian sister. Her attention to detail and delivery of a passionate professional is next to none. She always WOWs me with the depth and maturity of her selections. Hugs Jules!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
