Fachwerk celebrate 8 years Fachwerk with a special 2x12" Album Release... Fachwerk, established in Berlin in 2007 By Mike Dehnert, will be celebrating their 8th year this September with an album showcasing the cohesiveness of their sound and artists. In the past years, Sascha Rydell, Roman Lindau and Mike Dehnert himself have called the label home, hosting frequent nights at Berghain among other venues with the whole crew. With the minor exception of a couple releases the label catalog almost uniquely features the German trio. For this special series, the three have come together once more, with the last time being three years ago, to each contribute their perspective on this anniversary piece as they travel through various emotions that capture the uplifting energy of the label. The story is told as a narrative opening with a prologue from an alluring French female which slips gently into a punchy bass and cheerful rifts. The plot continues to unfold with dub-like chords that nurture serene atmospheres, which glide between bouncy beats and darker intriguing synths. The camaraderie is evident as the story progresses through a series of interludes embracing the banter of daily life running a label. The sheer ability for Dehnert, Lindau and Rydell to intermingle and rest so consistent has them fooling any ear into thinking this compilation is a solo album. This is not an easy task for many labels, yet they are able to embody the essence of what the label has achieved in the past 8 years as well as what is still to come.

We are proud to add a new member to the Baum family. Sascha Rydell of Fachwerk fame has produced two powerfull tracks for is debut release on Baum. A Day Ward has dubby elements, and a modulating groove perfect for the dancefloor. Crack Willow is a more Deep and atmospheric track close to a Deep House vibe, which also get´s some dirty raw treatment from Resoe on his Morning reshape Remix. This release comes on white vinyl with grey splatter.

Sascha Rydell’s ‘SR 80’ kicks things off with fluctuating modulations, delicate atmospherics and euphoric, chord progression that alleviates the senses. 

Colorcode Records, the galvanizing new label run by former Fachwerk members Roman Lindau, Sascha Rydell and Monomood is all about extending their eclectic and intriguing, musical vision.
To do so they combine color schemes with the music and create an exciting and colorful platform for their versatile output. Every genre has a reference to a color, blue is a dub orientated sound, red is focused on proper 4 to the floor and groovy techno, green is an experimental sound and yellow a more house focused sound and it won’t stop here, There won’t be any restrictions by these four colors as Colorcode is constantly trying to explore new genre boundaries.
The two Artists on this record can already look back on over twenty releases on the likes of Fachwerk, Baum Records, Etui Records or Shtum and continue their musical journeys into the depths of colorful sound experimentation without creative restriction.

Sascha Rydell - SR80 - (Colorcode Records)

Long year Fachwerk member and well known for his stripped, funky but always dancefloor focussed techno he contributed to the world famous Fachwerk sound but will now go one step further with Colorcode Records today. 

The stuff is in his bones, frankly, and that shines through in his own idiosyncratic tracks and EP’s, as does his ear for an unfamiliar hook, ability to craft a devastating bassline or most inviting groove. 

1996 was when he began DJing, and since then years of experience have only fomented his ability to thread a compelling electronic soundtrack to anyone who will listen. Born and raised in Berlin, growing up alongside clubs like WMF, Tresor and E-Werk and people like Mike Dehnert and Roman Lindau, Rydell has techno in his bones. But also, hip-hop, soul, funk, house and jazz are roots of his sketchy, loopy, heavy techno sounds and eclectic DJ sets.“Every piece I produce has my soul in it” states Sascha. “It all expresses the experiences that I have gained over the past 15 to 20 years.” Some of the most notable achievements in that time of music making include playing legendary places like Berghain and European hotspots like Trouw, La Machine du Moulin Rouge as well as releasing a number of well received records and tracks on Labels like Delsin, Fachwerk or Baum, which picked up healthy support from many Artists worldwide.
With the whole Fachwerk story coming to an end for Sascha the moment has come for him to start a new episode of his musical life. Together with his friends and brothers in mind Roman Lindau and Jens Thomas a.k.a. Monomood he presents the new Colorcode imprint to the world to continue his sound philosophy: Groove is Central, Bass is Life, Texture and Detail are essential.
