Yasagure (やさぐれ) is a kind of attitude in Japanese slang, which means giving up something somehow but blaming on somebody and cursing others with depression and self-powerlessness.
In 1970-80s in Japan, it was in the period of rapid growth. People were happy and were enjoying its highly economics growth, however, on the other hand some Japanese (especially young artists) were tired of making money. They somehow lost purpose of making money because doing business only looked like meaningless action for them. So they tried to express their kind of depressed mind on songs with most powerful grooves at the moment which were folk and rock because these were huge trend in Japan before 70s. Obviously, making money is important yo survive in the "society", no matter they made the coolest grooves with their soul, nothing could change. These powerless mind made them act like yankees who somehow seem like giving up their life with blaming and cursing others. This action was called "Yasagure".

鹿児島で定期的に開催させて頂いている和モノとレアグルのイベント"FUJONISM"のイメージMIXです。
"FUJONISM"はFusion(融合)とJaponism(日本文化)から来ています。その名の通り和モノをベースにレアグルーブを解釈していき、果ては和モノとレアグル(他国のファンクやソウルなど)の共存融合をイベント内で果たすことを目的としています。またその過程により、来場して頂いている方、特に20代のオーディエンスの方に日本の国産音源である和モノの可能性の広さ、40年以上の時を超えてようやくバーやクラブで認められつつある日本の隠れた優れた音源達を一緒にさらに掘り起こしていけるきっかけになれば良いなと思っています。もちろんそれらの音源のほとんどはアナログです。同時にレコード文化のさらなる発展の小さな小さな一助にもなってくれればと願っています。
つたないミックスですが、やりたいことの半分ぐらいは伝わるような感じになったかなと思います。お聞きになってご興味出ればご来場はもちろん、DJとしてのご参加もお待ちしております。宜しくお願い致します。

This mix is for helping you to make a deeper understanding of  my event "FUJONISM".  "FUJONISM" comes with "Fusion" and "Japonism", and it is the event based on "Wamono (Japanese grooves)" through to understand "rare-groove" all over the world. 
Ever since those Japanese songs were made in 70's and 80's , they had been just treated as one of a Japanese-pop song, not a song for playing at a bar or a nightclub. However, people are changing their impressions for them today and my goal for holding the event is that making "Wamono" as one of "rare-groove" genre such as funk and soul, and let people (especially the young generation of Japanese people) know "Wamono" is playable in the public as the rare-groove songs.
This mix isn't perfect enough, yet I think this can tell what I want to express through the event. Please give a listen to it and if you get interested in it, I'm happy to have you there both as audiences and DJs.

Done the grey days again. When I rise my face for a moment, the city which was grey sometimes shows its true shape. And that is, sorrowfully beautiful.  And whenever I have seen such the view, I feel like melting into the shadow of the city.

薄汚れた灰色が地下に続く。扉を開けてもそこは、薄暗く、灰色の人間しかいない。自分と同じ種類の人間達に、理由のない安堵を感じながらウィスキーを呑む。一杯、また一杯と自分を追い込むように呑む。そうするしかないのだ、そうすることでしか私は終わらせ方を知らない。そうすることでしか、また明日を灰色にする事が出来ないのだ。

The stairs are leading to the dingy grey underground. That's dimly and there are only grey people sitting around. Feel groundless relieved from the people who are the same kind as me and start drinking whisky alone, and drink another and another. I only know this way and this is only way to end the days I know. So that I can make tomorrow the grey day again.
