2022 could have been a very special year. I am sure many people had big plans for it, and I certainly did. But instead, that year became a line that divided the lives of tens of millions of Ukrainians into before and after. We all coped differently with the realization that our world would never be the same again. For me, music became one of the most effective coping mechanisms. It was then, in 2022, that I started writing music for the documentary projects of our investigative team at Suspilne. It was the first time I had composed solo music since the early 2000s. A lot of trial and error, experimentation, studying the theory and characteristics of various instruments, as well as constant feelings of "impostor syndrome" symptoms.

Three years have passed. The number of tracks has exceeded a hundred, and the views and listens counters have long since passed the 50K mark. It's a silly number for big names, but I'm happy with every listen, comment and feedback I get from those my work resonates with. Some of my work has even been recognized in the media. Has this completely rid me of the "impostor syndrome"? Not yet, but I'm getting there :)

Sometimes I go back to the pieces I wrote in the first year of the Great War. They seem to have the imprint of those times frozen in them. So I decided to pick ten of my favorite tracks from 2022 (including "Leftovers", which was the first one I presented to the public) and freshen them up a bit, because it seems I've learned something since then. That's how this collection called MMXXII was born - a renewed sound of the works that started it all.
