Combining melodic synthwave layers, 80s synthpop elements and contemporary R’N’B vibes, this new collaborative rework of Luxembourg based electronic producers Them Lights & Ryvage (French pronunciation: /riːˈvɑːʒ) marries 2 musical universes as different as complementary. Ryvage’s synth-driven electro-pop and electro tracks are spanning from 80s sci-fi movie soundtracks to industrial electro while Them Lights’ vocals and groovy soundscapes cover a wide range of genres from electronica and pop to R’n’B. Ryvage’s rework of “Yesterday" (original track released by Them Lights in 2018) combines the essential elements of both worlds in a subtle and catchy tune. 

Ryvage about the creative process: “I only kept the vocals of the original track and wrote a whole new song around it. I didn’t follow a clear conceptual line but had a vague idea of where I wanted to go sonically. I really like this approach as it allows a very interesting combination between artistic freedom and constraint that I am looking for as a producer. There is a tension between contemplation and despair, between calm and urgency in Them Lights’ lyrics that I wanted to amplify musically. The track is exploring universal topics like memory and the weight of the past... those decisions we took and that are still haunting us & preventing us from moving on.”

Ryvage (French pronunciation: (/riːˈvɑːʒ) meaning "shore") is an electronic musician from Luxembourg who blends synthwave and ambient techno. His latest tracks from the “Les Nuits I” EP, released in July 2023, have been remixed by artists such as Djedjotronic (Italo Moderni, Boysnoize Records), Madben and Etienne Jaumet (Zombie Zombie) and played on European radio stations such as BBC Radio 6 Music and 808 Radio.
