The eleventh Phonica White release comes from Q.V aka Quiet Village duo Matt Edwards and Joel Martin!

We’re big fans of both Matt and Joel’s various musical projects over the years so we’re particularly proud to present their latest collaborative release, the split 12” ‘Social Music / Change’. We can honestly say this 12” is quite a coup for Phonica!

Joel and Matt are behind a number of important and highly original records, either together as Quiet Village and Maxxi & Zeus or under aliases such as Radioslave, Velvet Season & The Hearts Of Gold, Cabin Fever, REKID, The Machine and more for their individual projects. This marks their first outing as Q.V.

The deep, hypnotic ‘Social Music’ slowly unfurls over its 9 plus minutes, ominous atmospherics swirling over drums, dubbed out jazz samples dropping in and out, resulting in a unsettling yet mesmerising track. Flip over for extended percussive masterpiece ‘Change’, another exercise in restraint as the latin-flavoured drums are eventually joined by otherworldly voices and screams, reverb-soaked vibraphone and submerged piano. These are two expertly crafted examples of Matt and Joel’s production capabilities just asking to be played loud, we’re sure you’ll agree!

As always with Phonica White, it’s a hand stamped limited 12” with centre label artwork by Pedro Carvalho de Almeida.

AEON and label boss Alex Niggemann are thrilled to welcome Denis Horvat back to AEON for another smashing EP, this time with the superb three-tracker ‘Minor’.

Previously releasing on Noir Music, Upon You, Get Physical and Souvenir, not to mention his stellar release on AEON last year, the Danish producer is getting his just desserts after years of meticulously curating and creating stellar music.

Here we have a hat trick of all encompassing cuts, and although bursting with the oomph you need for a heads down, hands up main room stomp, these tracks offer you more than just a 4’4 beat and a soundtrack to your rave, thanks to the skill and careful attention Horvat has put into each one.

Captivating from the off, Minor is a melancholic yet rapid composition of layered synth chords and percussion. As your heart starts to race, the energy continues to build with the track ‘DIY’, complete with driving bassline, reverb and effective distortion.

Rounding off on a high, ‘Cedevita’ brings the pulse back up again with another meticulously programmed latticework of drums, bass, and unadulterated dance floor decadence, with that added ambience of intrigue that goes hand in hand with Horvat’s productions.

Through this solid EP, the producer continues to create dense, barnstorming techno beats complete with that extra signature darkness.

"Vermillion" is the lead single off the forthcoming album by Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons, Message From the Other Side. The album is said to be inspired by a career spent DJing across the globe and the famous sunrise parties the pioneering artist is known for. Channelling those sunrise sets and the globetrotting influence of Message From the Other Side, "Vermillion" will be released with a huge remix package, seeing reworks from some of the house scene's biggest names including Agoria, Jamie Jones and Deniz Kurtel.

In his remix, Agoria focuses heavily on the vocals, propping them up with a deep, minimal inclined, backbone. The track throbs and grows in waves throughout it's six and a half minute runtime and crescendos with soaring, bass heavy, synths. "I’m doing very few remixes at the moment, but when Damian sent me “Vermillion" just before christmas I immediately fell in love with the vocals," Agoria says. "I had no other choice but to cut my holiday short to make this remix.  We exchanged a few tracks and ideas in the past but the timing never fit.  I’m happy that we finally found the time to collaborate with each other.”

Following in the success of the previous two entries in the series, this latest edition provides a perfect snapshot of how the relatively young label has matured over three years, with contributions from a range of artists including big names (such as Roman Flügel and Chloe), close Correspondant family (like Man Power and Red Axes), and exciting new rising talent (including Bird of Paradise and Sigward).

With eight tracks, split over two records, Compilation 03 sees curator and label owner, Jennifer Cardini, displaying an even wider musical breadth than the previous two compilation incarnations, but still represents the undefinable yet unmistakable sound which truly marks out Correspondant as unique.

DJ Koze's 2013 album opus Amygdala has continued to bewitch all who encounter it since its release. Tipped as his own personal Sgt. Pepper, the sublime long-player revealed a fully-realised and personal body of work, complete with a classic songwriting at its core, House in its heart, and veins coursing with psychedelic color. La Duquesa' was the album's dreamy single standout, a journey into deep, tropical ecstasy. XTC' begins in the same spirit, and captures the all the blissful allusions of its name, but its initial gentility belies the deep intensity to come. Floating pads glow with celestial ambience as a kick drum is gradually coaxed into solid form, and the introduction of spoken text begins the second act. Many people are experimenting with the drug Ecstasy,' it says, ...is the drug like the lie and meditation the truth Or am I missing something that could really help me". XTC' then transforms: sweetly imploring tones become demanding, gentle gradients between chords turn hard-edged, and sharp hi-hats cut through the haze. Complete with Koze's signature percussive quirks, it drives towards the track's final pay off: an undeniable, all-consuming, irresistible high. Knee On Belly' recalls Koze at his most tongue-in-cheek and overt, it is bright, bold and literally brassy, using cut-up horns of all shapes and sizes to patchwork together his own unique arrangement. With the highs and mid ranges accounted for, Koze adds in a swollen, thrumming bass line to mix to bring this floor-filler to life. Knee on Belly' recalls a raw, filtered and funky approach to groove, with a nod to disco house and the art of artful sampling, as it orbits between its own neon highs and simmering lows.

After running Dennis Ferrer's Objektivity imprint, touring on the international DJ circuit and building an impressive portfolio of remixing credits and collaborative releases over many years, André Hommen is now spreading his wings as a fully-fledged ar- tist.

'Introspectral', his third solo release, show- cases a producer who has fine-tuned his talents over a long period of time and - as the portmanteau title suggests - both reflected intensely and explored a broad spectrum of sounds.

The aquatic bass pulses of the title track, topped with cycling loops, surging drones and melancholy chords, paves the way for a dancing riff that will surely have hands re- aching for the air. With its textbook builds and sweeping dynamics, it's an impeccably rendered and dazzlingly hypnotic groove.

On the more introspective, bass-heavy Dub, Hommen weaves a web of gritty arpeggios and chiming synths whose intricacy is un- veiled in a long, beatless breakdown.

Last up, the writhing sub bass and Mor- se code pings of 'Centrifuge' cast an air of Hitchcockian menace: prelude to a cre- scendo of bright synths and blinding light as the machine revs up to maximum velocity.
