Vertige II is the second compilation to be released on Abîme, gathering tracks from ten artists to explore the Vertige concept with a wider spectrum of intents.  

It features contributions from musicians all around the globe, each of them delivering an interpretation of this ambivalent sensation that could be equally seen as a positive or negative feeling if taken in its plurality of meanings.

Ranging from GIL’ dizzying textures in ‘Storm Petrel’ to the sweetness of Fauness’ guitars in ‘Am I ready’, Vertige II finds its coherence when seen as a progression, a back and forth between fear and love, with each track responding to the previous one by being its deforming mirror.

Vertige II puts the emphasis on vocal tracks, but again doesn’t limit itself to a one-sided approach, and that’s how Lil Asaf’s harsh Jordanian rap can be found coexisting with Flagalova’ anthemic pop and Ptwiggs’ shoegaze ‘Forever is not enough’. 

As the successor of our first compilation, this record can be seen as both a continuation and a rupture in comparison with it. The delicate sound palette of the original opus has exploded and expanded into an ecletic collection of pieces, sometimes frightening and overwhelming, and sometimes soothing and reassuring, as is the Vertige.

YUNIS is a renowned Egyptian producer who explores his country's folklore heritage through the lens of electronic music, reinterpreting traditional wedding songs and sounds connected with Mawlid celebrations by pairing Ney flutes, keyboards, vocal samples and more with synthesizers. His brand new track, however, showcases different angle of his work as 'Matgarabsh, Ha!' is a raw and intensive beast centered around the frenetic, thumping drum rhythm. The song  comes as a part of second installment of '1PLACE4BEATS' series curated by French label Radio Chiguiro which aims to put the light on electronic music scenes in different countries around the world.

Following up from work on Björk´s 'Fossora', Icelandic trio 'sideproject' debut on SVBKVLT with their new full-length album 'sourcepond'. Taking influence from the fog-covered wetlands of their native island, sideproject transfigure influences from the low-end frequencies of grime and bass music, and reshape it into a haze of transient-smeared beats accompanied by breathy synths that grow ever wetter till they slip beneath the surface tensions of their harmonic stratum. Compared to previous output, 'sourcepond' opts for a more concise approach to their music, stacking up their influences of experimental electronic, Icelandic punk and contemporary club music, and builds a sound that oscillates between melodic hooks and experimental rhythms. Each track carves through the sensuous material, pulling the listener into the dank sourcepond as though magnetic forces were guiding a bird's beak towards misty horizons.

'BLACK PEARL' is the debut album by Eora/Sydney-based DJ, singer & producer @adrian-ash3r. The founder of much beloved local label @bass_water_freak_out, Asher's debut full-length release is a mammoth 23 track journey through drum & bass, trance, happy hardcore, ambient and all manner of personal poetry.

'GOTTA SAVE VENUS' is the release's 13th track, a moment of calmness in amongst the record's otherwise blasting bass, trap and trance which he's designed specifically for live performance. The track, featuring accompanying vocals by lil Flower, shows off Asher's vocals in a space dedicated to contextual subtlety. Crunchy breaks sit underneath moody pads, with Asher & lil Flowers beckoning for the listener to "swim deeper" intertwining into one another.

Of the track, Asher shared: "This song is a scifi trip in my flying car. At the time of writing I had an old 1987 Toyota Celica which I used to fly around in, sometimes to Venus. Lil Flower, a French singer, put some lovely vocals down and became the Venus whisper calling you to fly away. It's a lonely journey but there is purpose. In the breakdown I sing 'If you wake a mile beneath the sea, do not let panic twist your heart, take my hand swim deeper'. Just a reminder to self to stay calm in the chaos. Also sometimes I have dreams about breathing water which is nice."

Fértil Discos presents Fértil Club, a new series exploring global dance music rooted in ancestral and futuristic sounds. Curated by DJ Nim, its first release features PWKARMAYTA—the project of Peruvian musician Anthony Paucarmayta—offering an introspective and ceremonial journey. His upcoming album Aramu (Serpent of the Andes), out September 19, is a nine-track work entirely in C minor, a key linked to trance, meditation, and altered states. Written during the 2019–2020 lockdown, Aramu draws from sound healing and ambient field recordings, using healing frequencies to invite listeners to “leave the city through the mind” and reclaim sound as refuge and medicine. From slow downtempo to powerful ancestral-tech, this release highlights the depth and innovation of one of Peru’s most exciting producers.

TEQSE or ETERNO or RAÍZ or FUNDAMENTO in Aymara, is a track created and inspired by the jungle and Andes of Peru, with the concept of being an eternal loop, which with its progressive development and nuances invites contemplative listening.
It is a composition between 6/8 and 4/4 loaded with sensitivity, compositional talent, and sound design.
