Amsterdam Techno Sessions is a weekly Techno event, held every Thursday, in Amsterdam. We are delighted to have partnered with Threads radio to create our first radio show. In every show, we will invite local and international acts to showcase their work. 

For our tenth we invited no other than one of the U.K LIVE acts according to the legend himself, Mr Carl Cox, we present you SAYTEK Live!

Over the past few years, UK artist, Saytek (aka Joseph Keevill) has carved himself a reputation as one of the electronic music scene's most innovative live acts thanks to his impressive improvised shows. Described by Cox as “Absolute Genius when it comes to live” a sentiment echoed by his fans and many across the industry due to his mastery of machines (including analog synths, sequencers and drum machines) combined with unique energy and an ear for melody. His sound is broad and genre-defying, taking listeners on a journey through underground house, acid & techno that is tough yet intricate and deep. 

To date, Saytek has released eight esteemed live albums, Live Jam tracks, EP's and 12” singles, on his Cubism imprint as well labels such as Awesome Soundwave, KMS, Trax, R&S, Superfreq, Liebe*Detail, Soma, Bedrock, fabric, My Favorite Robot Records, Wiggle and many more. His raw live recorded tracks have become the weapons of choice for the most respected DJs in the world across the spectrum of underground music. 

His busy tour schedule has seen him booked for peak-time live performances at some of the best parties and festivals around the world. Highlights include Awakenings, Creamfields, Resistance, Shoom , Space Ibiza (RIP), Printworks, Mysteryland, and fabric London. Saytek also performs regularly at the heart of Berlin’s underground scene with shows at Tresor, Watergate, Sisyphos’s Hammerhalle and last year he was invited to perform at the legendary Love Parade founder, Dr. Motte’s Birthday at Suicide Circus.

Whilst his Facebook live streams continue to rack up millions of views, along with winning much regular support in the media from the likes Mixmag (album of the month), DJ Mag (Nominated best live act) and more, in 2019 Saytek was voted as one of the top 20 live acts in Faze Magazine by the German public and also held his place in the top 50 Techno Artists again on Traxsource (2016-2019).

Cyprusian is back with EP002 of his show “State of Techno”. As promised, from EP002 the second half of the show will feature a guest mix. 

For EP002 Cyprusian has invited Kaidun and April, residents and founders of E Chorus Uk, a techno night in Leeds UK. They have curated a set using vinyl and digital techno, breaks and electro tracks. 
Their party focuses on showcasing the UK’s most exciting techno talent, making the most out of the city’s intimate clubs & spaces. Previous guests include Yant (SKeleven) and Stevie Cox (Sub Club), two up and coming artists that represent the diverse Chorus sound. In 2021 Chorus has a plethora of UK talent locked in for Q3-4 to be announced later this year.

April is the pseudonym of Leeds based DJ & Promoter, Ben Moulson. Often claiming he was born “20 years too late”, April’s taste lays within the ‘glory days’ of techno, with a heavy focus on early 2000’s hard-groove. April curate’s his sets with a contrast of the old-school and the new, combining fast and funky grooves, with gritty textures and uplifting melodies. 

Kaidun is a 21 year old artist from the north-west who DJ’s & produces a wide range of dance music. In this mix, he alternates between some of his favourite techno & electro records from the likes of Hadone, Aloka & his all time favourite, Robert Hood, with plenty of groove throughout.

State of Techno EP002 will air at 22:00 pm GMT on 17/4/2021.
