Mowauk is the techno alias of Stijn Vanmarsenille, a Ghent based musician/producer. Stijn is a professional musician for more then 10 years as a keyboard player, gitarist and singer in Belgian experimental rockbands (Fopaw, Elefant, Drums Are For Parades etc). He also produced other bands and created electronic music under the name of 'Vanmarsenille'. The last 6 years he made music for contemporary dance and met Julio Cesar Iglesias Ungo along the way. Soon they discovered a mutual love for techno music. Stijn always had a crush for techno but never came to produce it. In 2018 Stijn met Berlin producer Inhalt Der Nacht in a musical co-production for ‘The Well in the lake’ by Julio and Helder Seabra. Since then the seed for producing techno music was planted. During the lockdown in 2020 he started experimenting in his home studio and felt like coming home. Almost 2 years later he was asked by Julio to make him a Parilisis podcast. He took this chance to show his love for techno in a versatile, experimental DJ set. It shows his love for dark, hypnotic and experimental grooves but also embraces the more melodic side of this rich musical genre. Mowauk is currently working on his first EP.
