ØEN Records is back with a special two track EP from up and coming Copenhagen based producer Fruit (@fruitdj). Originally from Iceland, but based in Denmark, Fruit has been making waves in the Copenhagen club scene with his eloquent DJ and live-sets. Following up his acclaimed 2019 Drømmeland EP he is finally back with two epic, fast-paced and euphoric tracks to light up the summer dance floors.

Drawing inspiration from myths and legends and particularly the Epic of Gilgamesh – a 4000 year old poem from ancient Mesopotamia – “Gilgamesh” is a hypnotic and trancey trip destined for the peak hours of the post-corona parties.

Created during the peak of the pandemic on an old half broken borrowed MacBook, the two distinct but kindred tracks are testament to Fruits unique production style, effortlessly navigating between euphoric fast-paced house, ambient soundscapes, hypnotic percussion and haunting atmospheres. Skillfully crafted and executed “Gilgamesh” is primed for both floor and mind.

The air starts to cool as it rises higher into the sky, causing the water vapor to condense onto atmospheric dust from volcanoes, car exhaust and other sources. The resulting water droplets and ice crystals coalesce, or join together, to form clouds.

For our fourth mix, we cast our line to the west coast with Perth's rave angel Cooper Cooper. This mix is a beautiful unfolding of what they do best: minimal layers of hooks that slowly build, tracks that flow into each other like waves, an incredibly patient and flawless approach to mixing, and highlighting beauty of the classic house vocal. Through their DJing and event organising, they've been creating space for queer and trans people in the Perth underground scene for years now, as well as proving themselves as a DJ based off their talent alone. Far away from earth is Seylanide the mysterious planet of the Erkaargs, and its seven moons.
On the first moon, Nuagon, are the infinite oceans. Long time ago the monks living on flying temples wanted to protect their precious island Oramont from local pirates and sea looters. By powerful magic they created a complex mirror reflection system that virtually made the ocean infinite, merging itself to the sky. Thus Oramont was hidden from invaders. But the sorcery was so powerful that the monk themselves never managed to reach the island again.

SYO is the damned prince. Son of Queen Narkelia he was destined to become king of Nuagon. But he fell in love for a gypsy girl who broke his heart, leaving him in tears. He decided to run away from his destiny and from his kingdom, living as an hermit, far in remote dunes in the desert.

Recording number three comes from back in early June, when resident DJ Physical Therapy got things going before DJ Lag and Total Freedom turned the place upside down and inside out.

The importance of the opening slot in the arc of a good party is often overlooked but like the pro that he is, the Allergy Season boss veered toward the outer edges of his record collection for tempos, textures and grooves that would set the stage for what was coming afterward.

The result is a warm, thoughtfully strung together mix of soupy digi-dub, street-wise downtempo dnb and sprightly, colorful dancehall. Big love to Daniel for being down with us putting this out and to everyone who comes down early and stays late.

No warm-up lap needed, 'Phasic Reflex' may start as a tycho-esque daydream, what's bred in the bone comes out in the flesh. A pure adrenaline rush of vogue-ing 303, hi-voltage electro and intricate drum programming, this one has dancefloor ripper written all over it.

Keeping the tension up to hazardous levels, 'MS Plenty' zones out to a Detroit-style elixir of arpeggiated seesaws and pong-indebted, body-jacking pep. As its title suggests - or not, the B-side opener 'A Realist's Realistic Reality' clearly lies closer to a cyphered Dick-ian parallel world full of binary bleepin' and swirlin', post-kosmische infused riffs and tentacular Arpanet-style modularity, which @roza-terenzi alters into a lo-pressure dub expedition - better tasted at sunrise, feet buried deep in the sand and your hazy mind draped in the cosy folds of a cheerful seaside sloth with friends.
