My Beautiful Launderette was a band that I co-founded in Salford in the 1990s:

We recorded and gigged around the UK between 1993 and 1997.

Even though MBL provided an (often unwelcome) alternative to Brit Pop, Steve Lamacq thought we were quite good. 

This song which was written in a damp cellar in Salford in 1994, was an ever present on the band’s setlist, though it wasn’t ever recorded - until now…

This is a song about nostalgia. It's partly autobiographical but I also had Nico from the Velvet Underground - and the song 'All Tomorrow's Parties' - in mind when I wrote it.

I was really sorry to hear that Mike passed away in October 2015. RIP Mike.

Some girl at work - a dream expert by all accounts - told me that it meant there were things I didn't like about myself.

A veteran of the 1990s Manchester music scene, Scott’s solo work has been played on regional, national and international radio and used in several independent films.
