On remix duties for my buddy from Portugal, D-Mand. This is the result of some dark nights and urge for emotion.

"Darks Side Of The Room" it's a minimal and progressive Ep, a little dark but uplifting, with funky little details and many textures we recorded, like glass and breath sounds...

The first one I did at the beach in Crete (130 bpm) and the second one, a week later, in a park in Vienna (120bpm).
These spontaneous sessions are so much fun, specially at such beautiful places.

Following releases on Innervisions and an album on Get Physical, E&B returns to Bedrock, and even though January is not yet done, 2016 has already been a milestone for LA based Eagles and Butterflies. Hitting Columbia with Richie Hawtin and Jamie Jones, Philly, San Fran and of course playing alongside John Digweed at the massive Bedrock show at BPM Festival, the year has got off to a soaring start. On the production tip things are equally relentless as he adds his own touch to the legendary techno production Murder Was The Bass by DK8. The highlight of the BPM showcase, it’s set to become a global bomb on the underground.

Murder Was The Bass is accompanied by Fireworks and Moonlight, two incredible main stage weapons that combine to create a killer EP that demonstrates why Eagles & Butterflies is one of the most talked about acts of the year already!

My Favorite Robot/Cocoon mainstays Villanova ramp up for their first release on OFFwith two original tracks and an appearance by raw tech aficionado Echonomist on remix duty.
The French duo stray from their prevailing blend of sensual house, crafting a darker aesthetic fit for the label’s newfound coordinates. 

First up is Control, a restrained yet uplifting cut. The steady beat and pulsating bassline are kept at bay, creating a tense yet solid atmosphere. Polyphonic synths interlaced with metallic ricochets are key condiments that make their presence on the second track as well.

Divago sets off with techtronic synths and accelerating beats, gradually ascending and building up tension throughout the entire track. The relieving peak point is thus replaced by an exhilarating “hands-in-the-air” moment of maximum impact. 

Echonomist’s take on Divago is straightforward from the kickoff. Sectioning off original elements, and keeping the focus on bassline and percussion, the cut is reconstructed into an unrelenting late-night groove. The producer manages to imprint his biting style of thumping dark tech, in a rework that perfectly complements the inital composition.

The sublime new mini album kicks off with the 'Truth Lies Ahead’ where the music kicks off, almost cinematic in feel building in a quiet yet imaginative state. ‘Santore’ builds with a more tribal feel to it incorporating lush uplifting atmospherics and subtle keys. ‘La Luna Ma Mira' has exotic overtones and eastern orient melody flashes, whilst  'Baile De Lobos’ glows with its excellent vibe, hypnotic groove and very warm, rich tones. Brian Cid cut his teeth engineering for a galaxy of music superstars including Wiz Khalifa, MOS DEF & Snoop Dog and you can add Lady GaGa, Bruno Mars and Rihanna to that mix too. Mentored in-house by nonother than Todd Terry. Brian’s status has steadily grown with support from peers including Richie Hawtin, Pete Tong, Sasha, Danny Tenaglia, Claude Von stroke and Mark Knight. His productions and DJ-ing have left an indelible impression on the dance floor constantly taking him around the US and the world.

For those people with open minds and open ears, electronic music doesn’t really have borders - blurring the boundaries between house and techno is a given -creativity and experimentation without restrictions and expectations is what allows artists to make exceptional music that becomes timeless and treasured. Alex Niggemann’s AEON label is focused on conjuring up the spirit of classic and timeless music, updating it over time and creating new boundless possibilities for the future. For the label’s next dynamic release, Alex has selected 3 of his own favourite productions (that have never been remixed before) and selected 3 masterful artists to breathe a new life into them.

‘Divergent’ (AEON018) remains one of AEON’s biggest hits so far. Released in November 2015, Alex’s original version was a landmark voyage into the realms of melodic, deep techno, and there is no finer candidate to remix this classic track for the first time than Lucy. Italian-born and Berlin-based Luca Mortellaro (aka Lucy) is one of the Techno genre’s most exciting DJ/producers, and also founder of Stroboscopic Artefacts, one of modern Techno’s finest labels. Lucy and Alex’s friendship goes back almost a decade, when they collaborated on a series of releases together (a fact that is largely unknown), and whilst his interpretation of ‘Divergent’ is full of his trademark uniquely deep yet dancefloor-driven attitude, Lucy also has an inimitable ability to take a track deeper and into more abstract dimensions than his peers, creating an exceptional outcome - a bewitching, cathedral-esque hybrid of analogue and digital heaven.

Another exceptional Berlin-based talent is Ray Kajioka, whose releases on Kanzleramt (among many other respected labels) are the stuff of legend, for those in the know. With his heart firmly planted in the roots of the classic Detroit Techno vibe, his remix interpretation of ‘Convection’ (the original of which appeared on Alex’s ‘Angular EP’ AEON021) is a balletic, modern, melodic masterpiece. Warm waterfalls of layered keys flow beautifully throughout, as Ray takes the track on an unforgettable, delicate, emotional journey.

In distinct contrast, for the EP’s finale, ‘Luminance’ (the B-side of Alex’s original ‘Divergent’ AEON018 release) fires a furnace of thumping, percussive energy, laced with melancholic synth motifs, courtesy of Daniel Bortz. The widely respected, yet seldom acknowledged, Bavarian DJ/Producer is a distinctly enigmatic character, whose releases for the likes of Innervisions, Permanent Vacation and Exit Strategy, mark him out as being an exceptional artist, and the perfect choice to add his interpretative skills to this remix project.

AEON’s releases always reference back to Alex Niggemann’s roots, a platform to showcase music that stands for pure quality and originality, and this ‘Remixes EP’ continues this ethos perfectly. AEON has always been a home to cutting-edge artists, and Lucy, Ray Kajioka and Daniel Bortz continue this tradition - all breathe life into their productions with true emotion, and boldly walk their own path towards a very bright and highly creative musical future.

We are proud to welcome talented Spanish producer, Lefrenk who has been remixed by Oliver Schories and just released a full length album on Greek label PFL records. For this Ep he teamed up with Hells Kitchen who has become an emerging talent from Russia with releases on Cinematic and Moonbeam Digital to name a few.

	 'Lights' it's a groovy emotional track with some driving arpeggiated synths and cinematic strings sections.

	'Shadows' is a dark adventure with a powerful baseline, some nice detailed textures and surrounding deep atmospheres.

	Lefrenk has delivered 2 solo tracks on this EP in which he shows us his unique talent to captivate and hypnotize.
Listening to 'The traveller' you will find yourself immersed into his universe full of feelings and flying notes.
'Other Way' is a happy progressive composition that won't let you down. It has a beautiful break, and you may feel like riding a galloping beat. 

We are happy to have Applescal on board, he has remixed 'The Traveller' creating a massive track. This remix speaks by it's own,  words aren't required here.

To close this EP Van Did has twisted 'The Traveller'  into something a bit more clubby, while adding his own flavors.
