Decades ago, Oil Ocean Zone was an oil-rich gulf in the middle of a vast desert. Eggman hasn't turn it into an environmental nightmare yet.

This playlist doesn't contain every song in Sonic Classic 2. Just the ones that either haven't been uploaded to Soundcloud yet or the ones that are hard to find elsewhere. I also took it upon myself to extend the songs/fix the looppoints so last a bit longer than the in-game files/loop correctly. Songs from existing Sonic games have been omitted.

This round for the Mega Drive Music Contest, participants were tasked with arranging one of the zone themes from Sonic 2 to suit a Past, Good Future or Bad Future counterpart, and so I decided to do a chilled bossa rendition of Aquatic Ruin Zone's theme to fit what I imagine the Past of it would sound like.

Aquatic Ruin Zone - Past (Mega Drive Arrange)

What does this city have that rivals places like Stardust Speedway, or Star Light City? Could it be the highways that seem to cross the sky? The stars, which still resist light pollution? The thriving nightlife, perhaps? In any case, none of that will stay if Sonic isn't quick and takes down Eggman.
