Adele Marcia Kosman - The Mean Of Give And Take

one assignment this semester included making a sonic portray the place(s) where we are locked down during the Covid19 pandemic. Since 1993 I am based in Den Haag in the Netherlands. Originally I came to study Sonology (= electronic music) and I'd make performances, music theater pieces and live radio shows (the wilmaphonestupidshow) on pirate radio Tonka, while at the time standing more or less right next to the transmitter. All of this is a very long time ago. The Corona lockdown has allowed me to be in Den Haag for a longer period of time than I've been able to in years. It's been a precious time of self-reflection that made me dig up stuff I made a long time ago. This particular piece is a new short edit of material I recorded 25 years ago in the analog studio at Sonology. It lies at the core of my work in Den Haag and it is a self portrait as much as a portrait of this place.

HyperDisCo is an improvised audiovisual performance by a large networked group - the current members of the Society for Nontrivial Pursuits Berlin.
We all write and re-write code at the same time, and all code gets shared between all players.
While we love to play in the same physical space, the corona pandemic rules make that impossible, which poses interesting constraints on playing together, and generally for exploring artistic uses of programming via live coding.
In the ongoing online semester at UdK Berlin (where we teach and study), we are continuously developing a network setup in SuperCollider where all code runs simultaneously on all internet-connected nodes, so every node renders a complete, streamable realisation of the piece.
By sticking with just-in-time programming style, we know that all running synced code is accessible and thus changeable for everyone, and all changes will go into the globally synced state which each local code mirrors.
The jointly created sound and graphics processes embody the flow of ideas in the group.

HyperDisCo network session 24-06-20

'SINGULARIS' deals with biological and information technology granular processes of postdigital lifeforms. Through ‘Quantified Self Management’ we evolve into improved, elevated persons - singularities. Singularis is a Granalysator in which collected biological matter is scanned into pointclouds and through an audiovisual granular system is transformed into synthetic bodies forming a complex network in a web of interactions.

Realtime 3d audiovisual system created with HDRP-Unity and including working with 3d scanning and realtime pointclouds and meshes.

Object via Glass is a performance of spoken word and desktop choreography. The piece looks at glass as a technology, material and metaphor, with focus on its agency and subjectivity. These are explored through references to glass production, glass fibres in digital communication and glass displays (screens and vitrines). Glass becomes metaphor for the rising agency and hidden subjectivity of new technologies through which we see and perceive the world.

In February 2020, Berlin/Istanbul based record label proposed an album release to a generative music collective, Society for Nontrivial Pursuits. Twenty artists submitted pieces for S4NTP’s open call and “The Early Years” came out. 
Starting with Alvaro Caeiros’ “Hit Record” (which ironically is reminiscent of hitting the record button when dealing with codes and patches) “The Early Years” is a “fixed media” album from a generative music society.
