For an artist whose entire instrumental arsenal consists of one acoustic guitar and one harmonica, there's very little about Eric Wilkinson's music that could be described as "finesse". His raw and impassioned vocal style combined with his surging energy and aggression evoke images of a punk rock Bruce Springsteen. His song writing ranges from earnest, often romanticized musings on small town hopes, dreams, and failures, but also delves into scathing political and social commentary, all with a healthy dose of blunt force emotional honesty. His abrasive style (affectionately known as "strum for destruction and scream your guts out") may not win any beauty competitions, but it just may win a few fans looking for the kind of honest music this world so desperately needs.
