By morning, the east wind had brought the locusts 
And the swarming parasitic sects besieged
Upon pharaohs sceptre, scribes-men focused 
A bread basket plundered by hoarding thieves

At noon, the mob were praying, while Apollo 
Lent his ears to hear Locustas’ lament 
Hear he not, the choral cries of sorrow 
As broken strings serenade our descent 

This aft’noon, stirred thy royal infantry 
And the locusts came up over all the land 
Grazed beneath the pallium worn by thee
Venom via vermin, thou callous hand

As eve fell, in captains cabin was he
Whilst the ships first mate took lashes to his back
All crewman forsaken, adrift to see 
Locusts cover the face of the land until it was black 

To dawn, we sail, our ship desolation
Yester-morrow shall ne’er be the same 
Ant hills rise and fall, as any nation 
They too shall know the day the locusts came

And The Locusts Came

A rose amongst the thorns
Beauty of a thousand scorns
Relinquished within a world forlorn
Embraced into a love reborn
