You weren't kidding this is much more cohesive than before.

the way you built these melodies is quite interesting, so many silences in between the notes and that is giving the composition a nice flow.

Many had hoped that Corona would be a wake-up call for humanity. That people finally have a sense of the gift they've been given. The gift of living in a wonderful world. Many hoped that now people would live in solidarity, live respectfully and peacefully with one another. But already during the Corona crisis one noticed that the opposite was happening. People became more and more selfish. The hatred for everything and everyone increased and it is getting worse and worse. No respect, no solidarity. Now we have war again in Europe and also still in so many other countries in the world where people who actually only want to live peacefully have to die. And what the climate crisis still means for us, which we cannot prevent out of selfishness, we all see every day. Forest fires, dried up lakes and rivers, floods, storms, poor harvests, famine, lack of drinking water...
I know that Cecila also had high hopes for a better world at the time and composed this song. It's a glimmer of hope for all positive thinking people. A hope for a better, peaceful world where people enjoy their gift of life and live in harmony with each other. Without borders, without exclusions. In solidarity. It could be so beautiful.

I was lucky enough to visit California late December/early January and part of trip included a visit to Alcatraz Island. After visiting have had the heebie-jeebies ever since (this track will not help that ha!). I wanted to create a track that reflected what it is like for a person being trapped inside prison slowly losing their mind. This track is created predominantly from sound effects which is a first for me as is the style of music as my music generally seems to normally be more calm in nature! Hope you enjoy my short track experiment,  the full Alcatraz experience!

This is a bit of a hybrid that combines mostly acoustic instruments with a pop/rock sort of treatment including a distorted electric guitar break. The song relates the history of young love, college age, still kids, that eventually gives way to growth which ultimately brings the passion to an end. Recalling how they both provided security and understanding at the volatile time when kids evolve into adults, until, for one of them, it was no longer needed.

My thanks again to Nat Daniels of Gentle Rain Records for her wonderful production work to help clean up the old base tracks I had created some years ago.
