Words from James: "I’ve spent the better part of the year diving deep into the atmospheric and soulful sides of jungle, footwork and DnB. Perhaps hoping that the breaks might outpace my growing anxiety. Or maybe Lusting for the pads to suspend my sense of isolation. But it was in hip-hop and RnB where my soul found comfort and love.  I wanted to make a fast paced mix with elements of each, ultimately aiming to reflect what I’ve needed most from music this year: hope, love, and the energy to push through the uncertain.

I’ve forever relied on music as therapy, a way to reflect on the moment and process my experience.  Thank you to the Sorted team and community for providing me the space to feel an extension of that therapy through live shows and dance during my time in this city. So many favorite dance floor moments surrounded by my best friends, dancing to many of the talented artists on this mix series before me.  If, like me, you’ve missed these much needed moments of escape and release, then may this mix inspire a bit of that in you. ’Til we meet again.
