Sacred Mountains 圣山 by Shirley Ly | Piano Quintet

Ariane Rewound  evokes the idea of ​​revisiting one's past by drawing the thread of an emotion. Rather than leaving the labyrinth, this composition invites you to go back by pulling on the thread of your memories. First minimal, the very simple pattern develops passing from one hand to the other. Becoming more and more complex, the left Hand amplifies the emotions of the past.

The intensity of the dialogue between the two hands reaches its climax and thus releases the energy of past emotion. Then little by little we return to the increasingly refined pattern in order to find the calm and serenity of the present time.

This piece was composed by Enrico Russo for his graunddaughter! Last year he asked me  if I could re arrange it for him, of course it was a pleasure for me to do so...
