"I took this lengthy mix as an opportunity to delve into the depths of my USB and play some music that I normally would never get the opportunity to play. 

My intention behind the mix was to portray in 3 hours & 33 mins the ideal 24 hour set that I’d like to hear at a festival. 

From an early sunrise meditation soundtrack, to weird and wonky earthy grooves flowing into some uplifting day time house, cruising later into deeper more sinister electronic cuts through the night, then back into some euphoric sunrise classics, finally laying you back down gently with the wise words of Ram Dass accompanied by an extended Jon Hopkins edit.

Time is running...and it seems like we just woke up out of our interstellar sleep-mode as we are facing the arrival of the 14th edition of the almighty COCOON RECORDINGS COMPILATION. Starting with the letter "A" we reached "N" meanwhile which probably marks one of the longest running techno-compilation-series ever around. The list of the featured artists is amazing and almost endless. Big names like Funk D'Void, Alter Ego, Michael Mayer, Steve Bug, DJ Rush, Adam Port, Christian Smith, Nina Kravitz, Henrik Schwarz or Argy can be found here. Not to forget some of the biggest players in the circus like Sven Väth, Anthony Rother, Extrawelt, Timo Mass, Radio Slave or Ricardo Villalobos, DJ Koze, Dubfire and even Berlin's Basic Channel mastermind Moritz Von Oswald!
 
With the new "Compilation N" we will add even more big names side by side to some fresh and promising ones. Let's start with Konstantin Sibold & Leif Müller who gave us "Kolibri", a great slowed down techno-tune that brings us back to the high days of Alter Ego when Harthouse released big listening and electronica albums. Track number two by Julian Perez follows that feeling and explores the deep and dubby sides of techno, too. A perfect transition to Frankfurt homeboy Markus Fix. It's dub again however spiced up with hypnotic strings and a clubby kickdrum shaking our bass bins!
With track number four, "Compilation N" opens the door to proper and kicking club music. Grandmaster Aril Brikha and Vince Watson present a vibrant arpeggio-tune followed by Alan Fitzpatrick with his "For Fear Tonight Is All". Fitzpatrick adds more of a cineastic soundtrack flavour to the picture and creates big emotions here before Cavaan releases a thrilling Acid-monster ("Wildness"). Coming up next is Truncate with track number seven that seems to be a little homage to the big days of the raw and kicking TR-909 and the pure Underground Resistance techno from Detroit. Sam Paganini is following this vibe with "Labyrinth" however even darker with more energy and pressure. These are the tunes that make big and foggy techno floors go crazy in the middle of the night. Track number nine "Luminous" by Lucy twist the knobs even further and beams us completely out of this world - if the tunes before didn't manage to do so ;)
"Les Gobelins" by Villanova doesn't need that pumping energy at all however it is quite a dark monster as well. Mind blowing vocals, wild drum programming and echo-craziness define the techno state-of-mind of the year 2014. The last two tracks come from Swiss tech-house-pionier Ripperton and Ricardo Tobar. We hear modulating bassline, synthesizer-sirens and minimal drum programming that all in all create a vibe somewhere between techno, house and the late works of Aphex Twin.
 
Number 14 presents 12 tracks with an impressive variety of all things techno these days. This is definetly no hands-up-in-the-air action at all. It is techno-music in a deeper way with a lot to explore and something that will exists longer than just one summer. This is something we want more from... we can't wait to hear what "Compilation O" will sound like ;)

Michael & Levan duo was formed by Michael and Levan Dunamalyan brothers in 2002. Years of hard work in the studio and time and effort investment bear fruit: the duo wins the attention of the famous Tilth Music label, which carries out the brothers' first release. The track immediately receives the appretiation of a progressive house guru, Hernan Cattaneo. Michael & Levan duo stands out with its unique deep-atmospheric sound, which is approved of the electro-music community. In 2008 the brothers - along with their friend Steven Ravic - found their own record label and call it Mistique Music, which later plays a big role in the further development of the duo's career. The trio releases many succesful tracks on the new label, that, up to this day, are sold in all of the leading online music stores. In 2010, the duo begins to perform more frequently in various venues around the world, including: India, Yekaterinburg, Vilnius, Astana and more. In 2013, Michael & Levan and Steven Ravic co-found another label – Kunai Records – intended to release only their original music and remixes of the latter by A-class DJs.
