In their first solo EP, BRF delivers a set of 4 tracks that have groove as their most powerful force. With an aura of mystery, the EP develops in an exploratory tone, bringing multiple references rigorously tied, with emphasis on the influence of dub on basslines and extremely sharp drums, with explicit references to breakbeat, jungle, funk and dubstep. It translates into the songs a rush of urban art that is very serious, but always relaxed. Finished at Sabará Rec., recording company in the North Zone of Porto Alegre, territory that marks the trajectory of BRF and brings the concept that drives the EP.

Peste inversa - Joao Ka

João Pedro Karpss, Joao Ka, is a musician, producer and composer graduated in the education field. He started his studies from the drums. During his college years, he approached the piano, an instrument on which he was able to deepen his harmonic and compositional aproves.

Throughout his career as an instrumentalist, João played in several bands in the underground scene of southern Brazil. He performed in most of the country's states and traveled his journey to get closer to electronic music.
During the pandemic, Joao Ka made releases in V.As of great national expression. Together with L_cio, Aka Linda Green and Omoloko, he released his track Us Mininu Lindu on V.A02 of Goma Records. He is co-founder of the label Sabará Records, a label in which he participated in the production of several artists from electronic until hip hop scene, and released his first EP “Avesso”, in the electro genre.

In your current work, he delves into the hypnosis of electro and explores more ambiences in his tracks. Considering the Brazilian political context, João draws a parallel of dark and heavy textures to express his feeling with the country's reality. "It's difficult to express such dissatisfaction in songs. Sometimes it sounds redundant. I prefer to put what I feel in synthesizers and drums. It’s closer with the time frame that I live."
