The mysterious Leipzig based duo JAJA released one of favourite albums of 2016 (Tropical Bird Club) on ynfnd (you need friends not discs) and we have been waiting to release something from them on Shika Shika ever since! 

For this Botanas, JAJA serve us up two humid, organic tracks seeped in dark green vegetation and marked by screeching birds from the canopy and mysterious voices from the forest floor. One for the deep groove.

"The basic Idea for this Track came to me during my time in Colombia last year. I had an Artist Residency in a wonderful place in the middle of the Jungle of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta - an area which the indigenous people call the heart of the world - 

I was playing music every day and giving cacao ceremonies for the guests of the Resort and in my free Time i was producing  inspired by the lush, abundant,  colourful and peaceful Environment. One day i discovered Aris Art in the Internet and some of her Images and collages spoke to me on a deep Level. Inspired by the Magic of Aris Artwork, the Spirit of cacao and the cacophony of the colombian Jungle started Working on a Track and called the Project "Ari". I had a good Feeling about the Sketch but somehow i did not start with the Arrangement until i was back in Germany. Last Summer i was looking through some older projects and rediscovered the Project for this Track. So i felt inspired again to finish it and i am super happy with it. Its one of my favourite Tracks and when we played it live Maywa was always laughing like a child and i really loved the innocent and joyful energy of that and so we decided to record a Version with the laughing and thats the Version which is is now beeing released. Alaix Pulse wrote to me cause he listened to the Track in one of our Podcasts and He said he loves the Track and was offering to make a remix. Since i like his style and productions i send him the stems and He came up with this wonderful rework. You can feel the Love and Care he put into the Track in every bar. And i was surprised and deeply touched that he added a beautiful recording of German poem while being french and not understanding a single Word of it. The poem adds another layer of Beauty and depth to the original while maintaining the joyful peaceful and sweet vibe of the original.

And Im super happy to have this Track released on Echoes. Cause for me it has become a Home and Family the people working for Echoes are all wonderful Beings and dear Friends who put a lot of Passion, Love and Energy into their Work.

And their Events have been so magical, inspiring and nurturing for me that im happy to give sth back that reflects the beauty of the Spirit of Echoes from Venus."

“Sabda” is a breathing organism who found music to be his first gateway towards silence. The bond between his heart and soul is what makes his sounds unique. His musical resume, as well as how openly he offers his presence, both push the boundaries to explore new directions. 
He has chosen music as an instrument to convey what he feels inside even though he states: “The more time I stay with the self, the more clear it becomes why music has entered to what I experience as life.” He continues: “The vastness of existence is endless, and I could never see any form of creation achieve to its complete form as it’s eternally growing. I’m not sure if I could get close to what I consciously experience inside regardless of production and technical skills. I create with the current state of experience I have learned so far. 
Light, life, and love is the triangle that inspires me circularly.”
 
His sounds are characterized by emotive organic house, world instruments, and experimental psychedelic spices on the side. Though, this style of music has been self-described as "heavily driven by substances”, he always performs while sober due to the complexities of operating computers and mixers during his events. 

His first EP was released alongside Acid Pauli with “The Magic Movement Records”. He has several upcoming releases this year with Hoomidaas, Under Your Skin, Sofa Beats, and Magician On Duty; meanwhile writing new tracks.
