THE WELL RUNS DRY

And the well runs dry
as the sea runs high

all the debts you’re owed
are lost on the winding road
far from anywhere

Yet we watch this crash crawl by
one wreck at a time
and we all know all the reasons why
one misstep at a time

look at us, we let it all go…

under distant shores
there’s a hidden clause
and we know who it’s hidden for
not just anyone

and the fleet was wrecked
by a force unchecked
