SUI UZI - SIA [AZARYA's Aether Edit]

Pop Up!’s debut on Montaime is a return to roots for Brazil’s future funk favorite, whose previous French House alias was inspired by Crydamoure’s discography. It’s easy to fall in love with French House’s production shimmer, albeit molded by limitations: 12-bit samplers with strict storage limits, basic sequencing, rack mounted gear, and instruments processed beyond recognition. 

“The Lost Waves Mix” is Pop Up!’s way of giving fans a hour-long deep dive into House’s golden age, with sweet '00s goodness curated to sound like what could've been Crydamoure's Waves III. Pop Up!’s success shows no bounds, having released on veteran internet label Business Casual & amassing 3+ million plays on “Paradise City” cross-platform. He’s remixed for future funk colleagues (Mere Notilde, CyanBlue, FIBRE) and featured by YouTubers (MKBHD, Nerd City, Anthony Fantano).

Pop Up! - The Lost Waves Mix

My first show in LA was a massive milestone, something I’ve wanted since I was a kid. It was a life changing experience attached to a crazy story! The night before this show, our car was broken into. We lost $5k worth of jewelry, medication and all of my equipment. The next morning we rushed to the Apple Store to get a laptop. Thanks to cloud backups & a pic Sara took of me prepping on the plane, we recovered the set with 2 hours to spare.

All in all, we're safe and pushed through even when it felt impossible. We met so many new faces & online friends for the first time. It’s a true blessing to do music like this, it's incredible that I get to share this spark that completely changed my life in 2011. I hope 2023 brings us more of this! 🌌✨
