I’m Sacred Stu, I grew up with music around me all the time — mostly because my dad was always spinning vinyl in the living room. House, garage, a bit of soulful stuff… whatever he felt that day.
Some of my earliest memories are just sitting on the floor watching him mix records by MJ Cole, Artful Dodger, Wookie, Grant Nelson, DJ EZ, Todd Edwards — the kind of tunes that filled the whole house and shook the windows a bit. I didn’t realize it back then, but those sounds stuck with me.
I make UKG because it feels like home. It’s the swing, the warmth, the old-school grooves mixed with the new energy. I’m just trying to carry a bit of what I grew up on into what I’m making now. If the music hits you the way it hit me as a kid, then I’m doing something right.
