The song is about many types of suffering. From multiple slavery to a singular person's well being. It shows a sudden breakdown of a person, and their regret towards people who did all these bad things to them. They are as desperate as they can't see a future for this world, having a desire of it to 'be in collapse' together with them. 
​The 'Paranormal Parade' title goes from the thought, that there were so many hurt (and already lost) people in this world that they could easily make a parade. An example can be victims of Nazism, terrorist organisations or may just by common, harmful standards of a society as well. The lyric can be interpreted in many ways, so actually you can decide what it is about for you.

Oh, John was born out of wedlock,

Their worldview way too small to make the grade.
And their children bear the brunt of all these juvenile mistakes.
That's just the way it is and shall remain.

The curtains brown, the young ones mad.
The madness of the times was plain to hear.
But, John was young and didn't know,
how far his start in life could take him,
once he was awake and self aware.

You lay within your childhood home, protected from the snow.
But, things go on that you just do not see.

Four years later, things went bad.
His mum, his sister, not his dad.
Were running down the hill to get away.
To get away from things not seen in Johnny-boy's most lucid dreams.

The price, too much for the women to pay.
