Ibiza resident Sadeedo's diverse roots have shaped his eclectic sound; sunny, soulful, funky, and tropical, with a distinct global flavour. He hosts the popular monthly show ‘Open Sesame’ on OpenLab Radio and also produces music, with releases on DSPPR and Maaula Records. On the island, he holds residencies at Pikes, Soulgood, The Standard, 6 Senses, Malanga and WOM Radio Café, while he’s also played at Le Mellotron (Paris) and Glastonbury Festival. Last summer he also featured at Pacha, Café Del Mar, and was invited to close Nightmares On Wax's residency at Pikes.

"دائمًا كان عندي هوس بفكرة جزيرة نائية وغامضة ومهجورة. يمكن السبب أفلام سندباد وروبنسون كروزو اللي كانت دايمًا تطلع بالتلفزيون وأنا صغير، مين يدري؟! ومن يوم ما انتقلت أعيش في جزيرة (إيبيزا) من ٨ سنين، بديت أتعمق أكثر في موسيقى تمشي مع هذا الجو، واكتشفت كم هائل من الأصوات اللي تلامس إحساس الغموض والدهشة اللي تجي من حياة الجزر. هذا الميكس هو خلاصة الرحلة — هروب صوتي إلى "الجزيرة المفقودة"..."

Open Sesame 060 - Sadeedo

VIBRATIO)))NS is back with a new year & a new volume. to celebrate the series turning 6yrs old, I'll be sharing mixes on a bi-monthly basis, with the focus continuing from last year's theme of inviting guest djs to contribute to it. These are ppl that I admire who I believe deserve as much shine as possible, have a fantastic taste in music & an essential statement to say through the sound they showcase. The structure remains the same: extended 3hr sets, all genres all styles. (Big love for the artwork design by the lovely @akshay-gite)

First up, the homie Said Durra aka @Sadeedo. We go way back to our Dubai days, where we would constantly meet at parties & after parties, sharing mutual taste & mates. We've both left Dubai following our own pursuits, but alwasy stayed connected & appreciating what we're doing from a distance. Sadeedo is now based in Ibiza where he is bringing sunshine through his sets, as well as working on his own productions, with his first EP 'Desert Island' being released on, melding together electronic influences & his arabic roots. Here's the mix in his own words:

"The Bathtub at Pikes is one of my favourite places to play at here on the island. It's a tiny, intimate space, and has a real house party vibe, with people cramming in and climbing all over the place. Good sound in there too! It's a constant battle - a fun one though - trying to stop people spilling drinks all over the equipment or falling on top of you while simultaneously djing. I also love that I'm not facing the crowd in there, I'm facing a mirror. But (before you call me a vain bastard) I'm not really looking at it, I'm just getting into the tunes and playing what really excites me, which I think is the ideal recipe for a good set. I really enjoyed myself on this particular night in September last year...it was really hot, but the crowd was great, and joined me on a journey where we ventured to many of my favourite musical places."

Ibiza resident Sadeedo's diverse roots have shaped his eclectic sound; sunny, soulful, funky, and tropical, with a distinct global flavour. In addition to various residencies on the island, he hosts the popular monthly show 'Open Sesame' on OpenLab Radio and also produces his own music, with releases on DSPPR and MaAula Records. As well as featuring at Glastonbury, more recently he's been invited to support the likes of Laurent Garnier and Fatboy Slim, to soundtrack the sunset at Café Del Mar, and to play alongside Nightmares on Wax in Freddies for the opening night of the season at Pikes.
