Musically, I wanted the song to sound like it's going through the ups and downs a person with bipolar disorder experiences.

Originally called "Upside Down," I was motivated to write a song about bipolar disorder. Bipolar can vary from person-to-person, from feeling euphoric and on top of the world one day, to feeling completely depressed and useless a few days later. These happy and sad moods can last for days, weeks or months at a time, and then they cycle all over again, hence the "bipolar" name. It always starts sad and goes to happy or the other way around, feeling happy to a complete mess afterwards. Now you probably figured out how I came up with the title. Eventually the same moods will come about and so "Feeling Happy" stuck with me.
