Safe & Sound teamed up Pretty Shady with legendary Australian DJ/producer Kid Kenobi to create an original piece of music titled 'Sunshine'! The track received an official release on Kid Kenobi's record label Klub Kids alongside high profile artists and our remix competition's winning entry.

Kid Kenobi on creating his new track 'Sunshine' for Pretty Shady:

I was asked to write a track recently for the Pretty Shady movement in an effort to help raise awareness for the dangers of skin cancer. The track itself is a celebration of the sunshine as we all love it here in Australia. But at the same time - through Andrea Kirwin’s lyrics - it’s also about the dangers of the sun and not protecting yourself from it (‘we love the sunshine but it’s the reason we burn…’). The vibe of the tune is summery and ravey with a solid 90’s breakbeat feel (no doubt heavily influenced by my new Original Rude Boy side project which is all about 90’s rave breaks). I’m also working on a more upfront club mix at the moment which is going to be a lot of fun. All in all I was pretty stoked to be a part of this project and am super pumped to unleash the rest of the remix pack!
