The “me” they meet is never the one you meet.
— Each person sees a different reflection shaped by their own mind.

මෙමාව මෙලෙසට හමුවන ගති ගැන සිහියෙන් බැලුවේ නෑ

No one really stops to look mindfully at how these “selves” appear in such ways.
— The arising of “me” and “you” in perception goes unexamined.

— The view itself — the lens through which we see — is unseen.

It can’t be grasped by thought either.
— Conceptual thinking fails to hold truth.

You haven’t looked right here, right now.
— Direct awareness of the present is missing.

අතීත මියැදුන මතක පොදි අරන් ,එ තුල රැදීමක් නෑ

Carrying bundles of dead memories — yet there’s no real staying within them.
— The past can’t be lived in; it’s gone, though we cling to its echo.

අනා ගත පැතුමක් තව ස්වරූපයක්, එ තුල සිටීමක් නෑ

A future desire forms another image — but there’s no true existence within it either.
— The future too is only imagination.

සැනසුම සිහි වෙන මොහොතක හුස්මක්

A breath in the moment when comfort is remembered…
— Even pleasant recollection arises and fades with a single breath.

Like a breath emerging from flowing water…
— Awareness rising from movement toward clarity.

…a rare opportunity to truly inhale that breath —
— Awareness itself is precious, fleeting.

ඒ ගැන සිහියක් නෑ.

But there is no mindfulness of it.
— The moment passes unnoticed.

ඒ ගැන සිහි වෙන් නෑ

No distinct awareness has arisen about it.
— Clarity hasn’t yet awakened.

දැන් මේ ඇසුනට, වචනෙක අර්ථ ය,
ඇසුණු තැනින් ගත්තේ නෑ.
හිතන තැනින් ගන්න බෑ.

Meaning isn’t in the sound, nor in the thought —
