British icon, DJ and actor Idris Elba returns to Defected with the fiery house heater ‘La Trumpeta’. The homegrown DJ turned global A-lister first released with the label in 2020 with ‘No More Looking Back’ in collaboration with Inner City, and in the following years the demand for more Idris culminated in headline slots at Defected’s events at The Warehouse Project and Miami Music Week. This new single comes hot on the heels of his remix of ‘The Cure & The Cause’, adding significant Afro electronic flair to the 2006 Defected anthem. Now he unveils his first solo original track with the London label, ‘La Trumpeta’, showcasing Idris’ signature global sound in full force; a powerful Latin trumpet solo dominates, signalling the arrival of pounding four on the floor breakdowns that have major club appeal. Expect more to come from the powerhouse pairing that is Defected and Idris in 2024.
