With an energetic pull, Sindicate (https://soundcloud.com/sindicatednb), the up-and-coming Hamburg-based producer and DJ, opens up the underworld with his banging release „Infernal / Limbus", taking us on a hypnotic journey through intense, heavy-charged Drum & Bass and Neurofunk.

Joining the ranks of Insomnius Music's fresh talent, the artist's musical journey started with piano lessons at the age of 6. He has since dedicated over ten years to refining his DJ skills, finally taking the plunge into music production in 2020, and is already leaving an indelible impression through international label releases. In his current release, Sindicate presents an enthralling musical passion that harmonizes seamlessly with his technical finesse.

In a dynamic display, the single „Infernal / Limbus” bursts forth with an intense surge of energy, exploring the enigmatic spaces that exist between our world, making escape seem elusive. „Infernal” rides on a driving kick rhythm, where the melody takes center stage, oscillating in triplets from slow to fast, conjuring an apocalyptic realm. An echo-like vocal draws listeners into the depths of hell, while the reese bass mirrors the relentless whirlwind of the underworld. On the contrasting end, „Limbus” establishes a somber atmosphere, augmented by drones and pads that reverberate like a haunting call from distant lands. The hypnotic arpeggio and profoundly dark bass instill a mesmerizing tension in the track. With both compositions, Sindicate unveils a shadowy, enigmatic world that showcases his multifaceted musical prowess.

It was the product of eons of research, an infinitely divisible weaponized molecule with the power to viciously disrupt at a granular level. Its innocuous smooth, red exterior glinted sharply under the labs harsh fluorescent lighting as it sat singularly ready, packed with the kinetic malevolence of its design. Subject 01304 sat with the wide staring eyes of a prey animal, small droplets of perspiration erupting from the pale skin of his face and shifting with the continual nervous twitching within his restraints. The faceless assistants administered the Redpill swiftly and without resistance as the observers watched with dark eyes, gazing without emotion upon their work. Inside the dark, moist interior of the subject, the pill’s casing split, its infernal contents spilling out, bonding with the subject’s biomatter, multiplying, attaching itself to each of his organic molecules, maliciously converting and evolving… hungrily devouring and pushing relentlessly towards the endstate of its design. The observers watched as the subject’s body distorted, heaving internally as he uttered inhuman sounds and twisted at his restraints. Black tendrils laced through the surface of his skin, suddenly tightening, before he both at once ruptured and imploded. The Redpill’s process was complete… amongst the carnage the tentacled black mass of teeth and gaping hollow eyes reached eerily towards the glass, the shadow of death in its wake.

EATBRAIN inducts its newest recruit in the form of French producer REDPILL, delivering 6 powerful slices of neurofunk (including a collaborative piece with Eatbrain veterans ZOMBIE CATS) for the CORRUPTION EP. From the ultrafunked heavy playfulness of FUNK DA POLICE, to the lemming-infused destructive tendencies of GROOVE DESTRUCTION and the jump-up flavoured neuro of I’M THE LAW, each layer delivers a unique and precisely crafted take on the genre with an unrelenting kinetic spirit. REPULSION, RED CAT and RABBIT unleash powerful strokes of hard-hitting d&b, giving the RED PILL a mighty backbone that’s perfect for annihilating sound systems and certainly set to devastate festivals throughout summer. Eatbrain prove once again their ability to take upcoming artists alongside their established producers and aggressively level up their output to ultimate effect.

MINDSCAPE brings his unique and fierce take on d&b back to his home label with REANIMATOR CHAPTER ONE on EATBRAIN, the first part of a series of 3 EPs, that culminate in the REANIMATOR LP. As one of the imprint’s most recognisable figureheads, Mindscape deftly demonstrates why that’s the case with the 4 tracks within delivering distinct and succinctly powerful ideas to the table. MANBEARPIG carries a swagger dripping with pure and deliberately paced attitude, whilst SHUT DOWN (feat. COPPA) rides on a fast-moving bassline and percussive flurry. FIEND OR FOE executes an effective low-key roller laced with a sinister and restrained edge and DEEP VOID carries the menace of HIJAK’s vocal with exceptional effectiveness.

The ‘Warpath’ LP from Maztek set a precedent and not just for him as an artist. It proved that independent figures can break out on their own and in doing so, can deliver cutting edge music through their own platform, garnering just as much support from the entire drum & bass as they would have done on a more mainstay imprint. And the ‘Warpath’ LP was also significant because of the fact that it was used to launch Maztek’s 0101 Records platform, which has since gone on to host many artists who are acting as pillars of the wider scene, bringing fresh sounds to the table and delivering the upfront music which has come under Maztek’s radar.
It’s these same artists who are about to take the ‘Warpath’ LP into another dimension, drawing from its original track list and offering their own versions of Maztek’s production. From the hectic world of Merikan, who draws for his signature through his rework of ‘The Dirt’, through the take on Maztek’s ‘Come Closer’ by Insomniax, there’s a range of producers who are brought into the fray to present the album from their own worlds. Trio Inward, Hanzo and Randie get their hands on collaboration ‘Gladiators’ featuring Gridlok, whilst ‘Pandemonium’ is given the VIP treatment by Maztek. Disprove follows in quick succession with his twist on the title-track alongside Ben Verse. Korsakov stalwart Droptek draws ‘It’s On’ with Virus Syndicate into his own sonic landscape and historic drum & bass figure Optiv introduces listeners to his reimagining of ‘What You Got’. MC Mota’s vocals are taken into a new frame by Synth Ethics with ‘The Breaker’ and Kiril then has his turn on Maztek & Aeph’s ‘Trajectory’. Up next, relative newcomer Phonetick gives a more lumbering motion to ‘Electronic Warfare’, keeping the same chaotic bass riffs as the original with Redpill and Maztek’s expert manufacturing. 
For one final time on 0101 Records, Signs remixes ‘Cheeky Dub’ and highlights why they were such a formidable force before their split. Then RedPill makes another appearance although this time through his own rendition of ‘Shake the Foundation’. Then before the appearance of Insomniax, Current Value delivers his manic patches of synthesis across ‘Timeless’.
As the remix album closes, it signifies just how far Maztek has come as a producer. From his beginnings on some of the most pivotal labels, through to setting up his own, he’s made his mark. With the team he now has at his fingertips, he proves this is something which will continue years from the creation of 0101 Records.
