Railway Of Nowhere OST - Don't Forget

This originally started as a Spring Yard Zone remix but during the process I remembered that I had always wanted to compose something I thought would fit for Sonic. So for this, I was inspired a lot by Michael and Janet Jackson and Tee Lopes who composed for Sonic Mania, going for that old New Jack Swing/ Japanese City Pop fusion with MJ's overall percussion drive and bass licks.
As for the name Diamond Palace, well it doesn't really make any sense for how this sounds, maybe some of the synths but the name sounded pretty.

This was orignally going to be a Theodore Tugboat thing, but while I was making it, I wanted to give it more of a late 80's/early 90's kids show vibe. (ie: stuff from Haim Saban, Shuki Levy, Graham Shaw etc..) And I'm really pleased with how it came out.

An RPG Village kind of theme but composed in a way as if it was a 'remaster' of the track using synths instead of chiptune instruments. A lot of DX7 in here, very handy for leads and stuff.

Stargazing

The sequel to the New Jack swanky rhythm, Diamond Palace Zone which I wrote over 2 years ago now. Some have suggested a sequel and I thought it'd be good to do one. I took some notes from how the OG Sonic soundtrack would keep motifs and stuff from Act 1 and either switch it up entirely or just amp it a little for Act 2. I kept the New Jack feel but there is a little less swing and a slightly faster tempo to Act 1. Thanks to SabreFlash for his input with the opening horns, a very nice touch that this theme needed.

I decided to incorporate a solo this time around, to give this act a little extra flair and give it a more ambient feel as if the level has expanded and got fresher things on display.

This was a free commission (sorta) from me to TheWorksDiesel who donated a generous amount in a livestream a few weeks back so I said I'd do a piece of music in return and this was the pitch to me: to write a theme for Hyper Sonic.

I thought going the Sonic 3/CD/Mania sound would be most fitting for this as those soundtracks are amazing. Really wanted bring that 90s vibe back for this one and I hope I achieved it.
