This is an hour live mix for dj nobu’s party named reprise, happening on 1.Feb at WOMB in Tokyo. 

Instead of focusing on new experiments, I put together some of my favorite tracks and ones I’ve been into recently.

Kugel - Live mix for Reprise [Jan.2025]

We released an opening set for the pre-party of  “rural” performed by KAPI, which is based at “CLUB SHAFT,” one of the most famous music clubs in the Tohoku region, and has been holding events that happen a crossover of different genres. This low-flying set of down-tempo music that included some compound time signatures and experimental sounds, gently loses your sense of time.

東北地域随一の名箱〈CLUB SHAFT〉を拠点としながら、同地域で異なったジャンルのクロスオーバーを引き起こすイベントを続けてきたKAPIによるrural前夜祭のオープニングセット。随所に散りばめられたエクスペリメンタルサウンドと変拍子も含まれた味わい深いダウンテンポが優しく時間感覚を喪失させます。

YAMA has been a prominent figure in Japan’s club scene for many years. With a focus on house music but also venturing into techno, ambient, jazz, and beyond, YAMA captivates audiences with an eclectic, but carefully curated selection that is as diverse as it is cohesive. With years of experience as a record store buyer (she is currently an advisor at Newtone Records in Osaka) YAMA is consistently exploring new sounds. 

Her expert blend of uplifting grooves with deep, psychedelic soundscapes has earned her praise from multitudes of dancers in Japan – as well as some of the most respected DJs in the world. Her steady, confident mixing has the power to move bodies and minds with equal skill, inevitably locking in dancefloors as soon as she gets behind the decks. Known for her regular performances at the legendary Precious Hall in Sapporo, her guest appearances at techno parties like Future Terror  and her sets at countless outdoor festivals around Japan.

YAMA’s sound resonates with equal intensity, passion, and depth wherever she plays.
Most recently, she has performed with artists such as Theo Parrish, Larry Heard, DJ Nobu Haruka Kuniyuki Gonno ,Fred.P, Nick The Record,Eris Drew, Nicola Cruz, YPY,Serigio Vardinelli and Dolphins into the Future.

A resident at The Observatory (Vietnam), he’s played Labyrinth, Future Terror, and beyond. His concept El Folklore Paradox bridges ancestral rhythms and futuristic sound.

The energy and freedom of the night...
The song "Locomia," by the group Locomia, is a vibrant celebration of the freedom and energy of Ibiza nightlife. The repetition of words like "Disco, Ibiza, Loco Mía" and the emphasis on themes like fashion, sun, sea, and sex show that the song seeks to convey the island's relaxed and festive atmosphere. The group, which began as a collective of fashion designers, brings to its lyrics and rhythm the idea of transforming the dance floor into a space for free expression, where everyone can let loose and have fun without judgment.
