A collection of shimmering bedroom pop within. The close mic’d yearning of opener ‘Slide’ has all the regret-ridden intimacy of a hand-scrawled diary entry, followed by the swoon-inducing bittersweetness of ‘Underneath’. It’s a union of melancholy and optimism — glimmers of The Radio Dept., The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Rocketship and any number of cherished guitar-first melody crafters run through this release like the memory-triggering soundtrack to some faded teenage dream.

‘Chasing’ and the title track seem designed to wrench hearts and birth sighs, made for wistful bike rides and golden hour buses home. But for all the rear-mirror-facing sentiment, this music is ultimately about what’s to come — as skygazing closer ‘Another Day’ attests. There’s more life to live.
