Tracks journey through the languages spoken in Cameroon: French, English, Douala, Fulbè, Bamoun, Bassa, Sango, and explores a wide spectrum of themes and experiences of life incarcerated. Frustration, pain, love, guilt, hope, social and political criticism culminating in a communal showcase of resilience through the redemptive power of music.

We've been fans and followers of The Mole for a very long time, so we are excited to share "New Family", a sublime slice of ambient grooves that bumps somewhere between hip hop and house. 

"New Family" is taken from the album, 'The River Widens' on Circus Company.  Originally a limited cassette-only release on Eddie C's Red Motorbike, now due for release on 20 January on double vinyl, full digital release and cassette once again.

Never one to shy away from synth deep dives, or raw sample flip collaging, this collection of 21 works checks all the boxes. Ambient trippers to straight up neck-snapping instrumental beats. Not forgetting tastes of the more uptempo, highly-assured and hypnotic dance floor feels the world has come to love The Mole for. 

Moments of casual chilling are interspersed with effortless, emotive angles, some evoking the charm of his Little Sunshine release for Circus Company in 2017.

জীবন কাটে যুদ্ধ করে, প্রাণের মায়া সাঙ্গ করে, জীবনের স্বাদ নাহি পাই।। “Life goes fighting in the war, hanging the illusion of life, never knowing what it tastes”.  The average age of a Palestinian is 18. 

In 1971, my Father (a teen at that time) was in a torture cell and my mother was on a boat in a river.  "Mother, bid me farewell once, I will be back soon". 

The mix includes songs of liberation and poems for a revolution, emerging during the Bangladesh genocide ‘71, (and other tragedies as - colonization and the partition of India ‘47, the Bengali language movement ‘52).

There is a song roughly translated as, “We fight wars, to write a new poem”. In some hundred years, there will be a museum. 

For the liberation of Palestine!
