this song is dedicated to my best friend Jake Skowronski and the "footprints" he left in my heart... He was murdered in his home for no reason. The killer has not been found.
Jake was the most loving and beautiful soul i've ever know. He was such a better friend then me. He was completely honest and always true to himself. He would come over on the drop of a hat. He would go anywhere and do anything with you. He was the type of person who knocks on your door just to say hello. no phone call just hey how ya doing? The first time we met we ended up hanging out everyday for 2 weeks. It was such an instant friendship. Sometimes you just meet someone and you think, man i wish we could of grown up together, we just click so well. I don't know if ill ever have a friend like Jake again. he was everything i could of ever wanted in a friend. We used to cook vegetable stirfry and look and each other and nod like mmm man we did a good job and smile, clean the dishes together. randomly go to McDonald at 3am for mnuggets and every kind of sauce they had and look at this close by pond and eat them in the car. Sometimes we didn't even talk when we hung out, i would work on music with headphones and he would too, he would use his Abelton push controller and use the kitchen counter and ever now and then tap on my shoulder and be like hey come check this out, or ask to hear my songs progress so far. I remember one time i sent him this dub-step type song in a text i made and he was so excited about it, he told me to save the project file and he wanted to come over after work to see how i made it. he was so excited and supportive, he made me feel like a rock star or a genius. he was just the kind of person you wish everyone was more like. i really hope anyone reading this remembers sometimes its not about being cool or trying to be better, because Jake knew something so many of us don't. its just about being loving, and being open honest and true to each other and ourselves. if everyone would just adopt a little piece of the way Jake was the world would be a better place.

jake was quoting his friend one time and laughing saying " she said this place would be cool one day, haha like its not cool already"
thats jake in a nutshell. He saw the beauty in everything exactly how it was. so many of us want to just change things or are never satifsfied, but jake saw the beauty in everything just the way it was. i miss you so much man. i love you forever and always. i hope to see you after this life again and pick up where we left off...
