Once in a while an artist will come along that carves out a sonic aesthetic so distinctive it takes just a few bars of a record to know it’s one of theirs. Miguel Migs is undoubtedly one of these artists, with the Californian producer’s catalogue of deeply soulful house exemplifying the very best of his silken, glossy sound. A natural fit for the Soulfuric Deep imprint, he now releases ‘Back Tonight’, featuring regular collaborator Martin Luther on vocal duties. Miguel’s downtempo original is accompanied by remixes from London duo Saison, who go for a clubbier vibe, and disco maestro Aeroplane, who lends his signature funk-flavoured grooves to the mix for a more retro feel.

Esquimau presents its fourth release, which firmly establishes its signature sound - a deep and jazzy slice of house music with a punchy edge. Igor Gonya delivers two effortlessly appealing house cuts, the result of a collaborative effort with up-and-coming talents such as Bauhause and Melbourne Drum Authority, with Sebb Junior handling remix duties. 'No Smoke' is a seductive, early morning groove built on beautifully arranged piano chords that develop throughout the track, bursting through the mix to add a touch of optimism. Sebb Junior's remix of 'No Smoke' breathes new life into the track, injecting fresh energy while preserving its soulful essence. He expertly manages the remix, maintaining a dynamic feel while staying true to the original's optimistic vibe. 'The Industry' follows with another piano-driven track, featuring ultra-jazzy sections, but with enough punch and dynamics-thanks to a funky bassline-that add heat to this jazzy yet slamming house sound.
