Heartache and a car accident in October 2024 led to this song. I was finally feeling well enough to walk around the block and as I headed home, I literally "buttoned up to my chin" because the November wind was so sharp. Before I knew it, the opening melody and lyric bubbled out. So, home I went and sat at the piano and processed these challenging emotions. This track was recorded the next day once I'd pinned down the lyrics and with the help of my cousin, Sam Gamper, it was polished a bit and released for Christmas '25. 

At this time of year, it's okay to feel the pain you're in - it doesn't go away just because "it's Christmas"...yet I pray that anyone who listens to this might be encouraged to still enjoy the little moments that bring joy. Most of all, I pray you might take hold of who Jesus is and "why the Humble King came". Philippians 2:1-11 

Humble King

Emmanuel, which means God with us. What a rich name for the Holy God, a God whose glory could not be seen by Moses without consuming him and yet, we celebrate Emmanuel, God with us, we have seen His glory and in such a humble state. Every step of Christ on earth was done in immense humility, leading to the cross. That is what this song, I pray, will point your heart to in awe and thanksgiving.
