Aloha liebe Freunde der entspannten Medicine Musik!  

Alle Jahre wieder finde ich mich in der Mitte des Augustes in einem wundersamen Feld aus Schall und Räucherwerk, Hexen und Zauberern, Marktschreiern und Gauklern, Begegnung und Konfrontation wieder.  
Diese heilige 1-wöchige Prozession führt mir immer wieder meine höchsten Kräfte sowie dunkelsten Schatten vor Augen und stellt eine große Quelle der Inspiration für mich dar. Die Rede ist vom New Healing Festival. 

Aus Dankbarkeit für die Lebendigkeit meines Lebens und aus der speziellen Stimmung meiner Healing-Erfahrung, die ich nun als Erinnerung in meinem Reisegepäck trage, möchte ich meinen Remix des „Universal Lovers“ von Fantuzzi mit dir teilen. 

Der Mix ist schon vor längerer Zeit entstanden, nun habe ich ihm den letzten Feinschliff verpasst und ihn für die Welt der modernen Medicine Music vorbereitet.

Proudly sharing my hybrid live dj set from Wüstenzelt @KabinettderKuriositaeten with you. A 3 hour journey through sound art and movement with haze and stardust. Recorded for you and played for the vividness itself. I was facing my old teenie trauma of playing a trombone solo in a big band gig and having not a single tone coming out. Yess, I was afraid as f*** of presenting this vulnerable part of my musical self but guess what - booom!! it came like a thunderbolt haha! 𝄢 ༄
Also played my Element Synth with the fantastic Alpha Sphere controller, went crazy on the Korg Wave Drum and had a good time rapping Zuzu'z and mine good old tune „Tanz mit Mir“ ❂
I’m feeling very thankful for this beauty of a first gig of the year and for all the kuriosen dancers, beings, voices and souls!

Billie Eilish is one of my current favorite pop starlets - this goosebumps whispering voice and them daamn nasty beats - holy!!

So I decided to get back on my bad boi 4 life shit, put some scruffy brass on the heavy 808s, mix this with bumpy juiciness and audiophile flavour and sent it to the great Nathan Hall to master it till the crispiness hit the tweeter.
And here we go: my personal little edit of the masterpiece „Bad Guy“ from Billie Eilish. Have a wonderful ride and enjoy the honey!

Premiere | Sakuro - Cinnamon [Talpa Rec.]

Vulnerability, gender and juiciness are topics that kept me busy for the last weeks and months. 

Working on this really opened up parts of my being I’ve been disconnected from for a long time. So it kind of feels like coming home every time a new insight breaks a chain I’ve put on my personality to be in line with society’s policy of being a „normal“ human being wearing a penis. 
The great gender fluid and non-binary Alok already did a great job unveiling the secrets of those chains. For example in their book „Beyond the Gender Binary“ or with their mind-blowing statements in the „Man Enough“ podcast (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tq3C9R8HNUQ&t=3658s). That’s actually where I took their vocal samples from.

The music almost speaks for itself: ASMR-like handpan sounds combined with deep and floating baselines, of course the tune is a story in itself and reliefs are happening within every drop.

The shooting for the cover I did with my flatmate Sasa the evening right before the C hit me hard. So there’s already this special mood of feeling very vulnerable but calmed down and grounded in my body at the same time. Sasa has got an excellent feeling for the right moment to release the shutter - every photo of that session is just a masterpiece for itself! Of course they’re gonna be published soon (psst: what u think my new profile pic is coming from? ;)

„Hej, whould you be interested in playing a lil show together before Feathered Sun?“

That’s what Phil (Woanders) asked me a few weeks ago. Silence. Then I was like „dafuq? - let’s vuqin do it!“ Was just a little dream come true.. I mean we hyped them for years! 

Also it was the Garbicz Festival 2019 where Phil and I fell in love the first time. And my symbolic memory of that festival will always be the magical ritualistic opening of Seebühne by Feathered Sun. You see - lots of sensations floatin around.

Maybe you’ll hear some of those in the music we played. It’s a hybrid live set with Phil playing the „more energetic side of downtempo“ and me also DJing and playing trombone, speaking and rapping. Big thanx @wo-woanders and @kabinettderkuriositaeten for making this possible <3

It was a big pleasure for me to re-interpret this beauti- and powerful song of the goddess Beyoncé at a time where I really needed a song like this. It probably hit me in different places than Beyoncé but isn’t that the beauty about art? For me it got the perfect soundtrack to my transformational process of artistic expression: from a linear, disciplined and tight to a gender-genre-non-conforming and fluid artist persona. 

Sakuro became Sakuri. 

Let’s play and let’s be curious about life. Let’s not neglect that everything is moving all the time. Let’s feel cozy within this.

Sakuri macht Lärm im Circus Zelt, Rummelfest bei Nacht, 11.02.23

This old but yet freshly released tune is an expression of anger and pain. 

Activating anger and pain! 

The tune arose when I saw Greta’s speech at UN Climate Action Summit 2019 two years ago. Tears were rolling over my face. Everytime I see activists fighting against this repressive system for the future of our planet and species these tears of deep compassion are rolling over my face.
So when I again saw people in Lützerath (GER) fighting I decided to refresh this old tune and finally release it to also give space to that anger and pain on the dancefloor.

Besides Greta’s vocals there are also vocals from oenophile and philosopher Philipp Blom refining the tune. What he says is about giving our natural surroundings more value and in that way build a new relationship to the planet and species that live on it.

So yeah, this is for the movement, let’s move!

You would think these dark and brooding tracks were written during a global pandemic, or some sort of existential crisis. But according to Nathan Hall, they were not. Partial to the darker, more introspective and weighty songs on his favourite albums he claims "dark music makes me happy". Filled with heavy stomping rhythms, sleazy synths and tension tension tension. Both NOL and The Good Stuff called on two completely singular artists to lend their voices to the source material. For NOL it happened to be a chance meeting at a gig in Moscow, Kira Lao's incredibly clever play on words only adds to the distorted and dystopian atmosphere with several ways to describe "NOL", or Nothing in Russian. SpaceAgePoetry (aka Justin Samgar) steps in on The Good Stuff with his eerie predictions of conspiracy and inequality repeating "the best things in life are free, I'm not paying for this S#*t". 

Nathan called on a few of his favourites to re-imagine the originals. Italian power duo Alien Alien re-emerge for a long and blissed out "bolero ecstasy" remix of NOL. Label staple and stompy sample master Sakuri sped up The Good Stuff and drove it home straight to midtempo madness. Finally, A-Tweed molded The Good Stuff into playful modular territory with his "Cylons" Remix.

Ich habe mich dazu entschieden, meine etwas experimentelle Tanzreise vom "Tanz der heiligen Regenbogenschlange" mit euch teilen :)

Dabei haben wir uns durch die Elemente in der Reihenfolge Luft, Feuer, Wasser, Erde, Äther nach dem nordamerikanischen Medizinrad bewegt.
Meine Ansagen zu den einzelnen Element-Wechseln habe ich in der Audio gelassen, damit ihr auch beim erneuten Tanzen wisst, wann ein neues Element einsetzt. 

Nach dem nordamerikanischen Medizinrad erschafft der große Geist Materie aus sich selbst heraus, indem er sich der Kraft der Elemente bedient:

Luft ist der erste Impuls oder Gedanke, der auftaucht, die Richtung, die vorgegeben wird.
Feuer ist die Kraft der Transformation des Impulses ins Außen.
Wasser ist die Kreativität und das Talent bzw. der Flow, mit welchem der Impuls ins Außen gebracht wird.
Erde ist schließlich die materielle Manifestation des Impulses.
Der Äther taucht so in der Erd-Medizin nicht auf, ist hier aber als die erlösende Ruhe nach Vollendung des Werkes zu verstehen.

Die Art und Weise, wie der große Geist erschafft, spiegelt sich im kleinen auch in uns Menschen wieder.
Diese Tanzreise soll eine Anregung zum Erkennen unserer schöpferischen Kräfte und Fähigkeiten sein.
