We're honoured to have Aarti Jadu perform an extra special live set mixed by @prissy_amphlett and @lara.sulo at 3CR Community radio studio, Collingwood.

Jadu has been truly an influential figure in the Naarm’s art scene. Her interactive and highly engaging work explores various ideas about human connection, devotion and healing. Her latest performance at @rising.melbourne Festival left quite an impression on us.

Jadu composes cinematic, atmospheric pieces played live through electronic instrumentation, on occasion conducting ensembles. Pairing classical elements, currently referencing chamber music, vedic, baroque and various folk traditions, with industrial synthesizers, 808 and pop autotune, the work is idiosyncratic with both articulate and incomprehensible lyrics and convergence of melody and texture, metric and arrhythmic phases.

@shespellsdoom is an experimental Electronic music project created by Zambian producer, Wamya Tembo. It draws inspiration from a number of his influences, such as: 80s Sci-Fi/Horror movies, (Congolese) Rhumba/Soukous, Gqom and early 2000s Rap production, which he mixes with House and Techno elements he picked up from time living in Geneva, Switzerland. His style can best be described as hazy but driving - seeking to create a visceral atmosphere without neglecting the dancefloor, combining trademark airy synth-lines with heavy drum programming. The past few years have seen him release music on labels such as All Centre, Tresor, Egregore Collective, Sweat Equity, GODDEZZ, Club Djembe, HTS and Basy Tropikalne.

Myria Idha invites Plaur for this Warung show. 
Bali-based DJ, producer, and designer, Bagus Purwoko aka Plaur found his niche in the underground music scene from a vast range of global influences via the internet. He spent over a decade working the local music scene pro bono which then led him to connect with people in the community.
He is known for his genre-bending and extensive blend of contemporary club music with a knack of harmonic pop twists and intriguing sounds on his DJ sets. He currently curates a series of events and programs through ORBITWARE — a Bali-based event platform he founded in 2019 that showcases talent in immersive experiences in contemporary club culture.


Warung w/ Plaur (26/01/24)

SPA was founded in 2018 in Cologne and is focusing on club music with a global perspective. The label is run by Salon des Amateurs resident Phillip Jondo, France 98 aka DJ Brom and Friday Dunard who put in their different musical backgrounds and influences together, ranging from Baroque choir music to high definition experiences. For their monthly show on NTS they reflect on current moods, play the labels output and invite artists around them.
