For the fourth release of Zurich based @anaram-records, @ORTRA presents four club tracks on the Scattered EP (NRM003). As much as they diverge in their production approach, they are held together by an overall mood, which draws in the listeners.
Antre opens with a fast-paced 4/4, driving bass, scattered breaks and dubby pads. Vigil perpetuates the atmosphere with a half time, bass-heavy beat, startling arps and otherworldly synths. 12subcult08 is a ride through syncopated beats, subaqueous tones, ravey break sections, changing tempi and an introspective verse central section. Scatter07 unifies ORTRA's love for industrial, broken percussion, glitchy samples, synth jams and heavy bass.

It was the small, subtle details which made all the difference. Those little flairs and flurries at the end of each serif soaked letter which oozed with class and style. Reading from the old parchment he assessed the stories, wondered what they meant and drifted off to a time long ago when the world was free.

He dreamed of sun kissed valleys, green fields and wild animals which roamed and wandered without care. He dreamed of the clouds as they passed slowly above creating a lifestyle of delicate shadows and glimmering rivers down below. He watched as the sun hit the face of each mountain in the warmth of the morning glow.

Then he returned to the paper, began to read on, as he watched the story unfold…

Blank Patrick is set to release a stunner of a two track EP on SLG International – a euphoric flurry of scattered synths, wandering percussion and goosebump moments. This one comes highly recommended.

Joey G @joeygmixes is a St. Louis-born, LA based DJ/Producer who’s continuing to make a name for himself behind the decks and behind the scenes, championing a unique approach to breaks, jungle, bass, UKG and more sounds from left-field and beyond in his sets, spinning those sounds into inspiration for forthcoming productions. The digging that he does for dance floor selections has led to residencies, curation opportunities and varying support roles alike.

Currently, he runs the label @lotsofpractice – a label without labels that’s exploring a range of sounds, highlighting artists and industry standouts, providing an outlet to let loose and keep on practicing.

The track takes huge inspiration from Mosca's "White Mice" & Levon Vincent's "Man Or Mistress", rolling for 7 minutes with sirens ringing throughout.

Pairs well with white linen trousers and cheap sangria, best enjoyed at the afters.
