Eric Heitmann & Alien Orchestra - The Way Back

We are thrilled to welcome Matthew Adam to the ad21 family! Today, we release his latest piano single, a piece that drifts through a mist of soft tones and melancholic serenity. With its delicate neoclassical touch, this introspective composition lingers like a gentle echo, inviting listeners into a world of reflection and tranquility. 

Matthew’s musical journey has taken him from drum performance studies at ACM Guildford to composing for major film trailers and TV productions. However, during a deeply personal time in his life, he turned to solo piano composition as a source of peace, one that he now shares with the world.

"Between Zero and One"
"Between Zero and One" is a cinematic, philosophical, and deeply immersive album inspired by Stoic wisdom and existential reflection. Through 12 tracks, it explores mortality, self-mastery, fate, and the nature of reality, each guided by a quote from ancient philosophy and timeless thought.

Memento Mori – "You could leave life right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think." (Marcus Aurelius)
A reminder of life's fragility, urging us to live with purpose.

Ataraxia – "Freedom is the only worthy goal in life. It is won by disregarding things that lie beyond our control." (Epictetus)
True peace comes from letting go of what we cannot control.

Amor Fati – "My formula for greatness in a human being is amor fati: that one wants nothing to be different, not forward, not backward, not in all eternity." (Nietzsche)

Happiness is found within, not in external circumstances.

The Obstacle is the Way – "The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way." (Marcus Aurelius)
Challenges are not barriers; they are the path forward.

Between Zero and One – "Everything flows, and nothing stays." (Heraclitus)
The final realization—nothing is permanent, everything is in motion.

This album is a sonic meditation on existence, blending IDM, Ambient, Neo-Classical, Minimal Techno, and Experimental Electronica. The final track, "Between Zero and One," weaves all quotes together, creating a cinematic, transcendental closing statement.
