I found Squarepusher's concept for open collaboration to be very interesting.  Kudos to him for responding to world events in such a positive way.  Read more about the concept here:  www.squarepusher.net

I took this opportunity to make some electronic percussion and noise, to contrast against the beautiful melody and pad that Squarepusher put forth.  I hope you enjoy, and in the spirit of the open collaboration, feel free to download and remix.

MIDI SANS FRONTIÈRES

Dedicated to my late brother, Alexander Jordan Cape.

Alex suffered from epilepsy, and was profoundly autistic.  While he did communicate using a few words, he was gifted in showing his love with a hug, or a "lean into".  

Alex loved music - and water.  As a kid he would spend hours filling the bathtub or a plastic pool in the yard.  He would dangle and stir a little rope or hose into the water and splash it around for literally an entire afternoon, watching the patterns that it would form in the reflective surface.  He kept this routine of "stirring" imaginary ropes and pacing around the room throughout his life.

This music represents his love for water, and repetition.  I like to believe that today he's being celebrated by an infinite eternal host, whose angelic choirs and living water bring him comfort and joy.

-5 Eurorack voices (Elements, M32, Z3000, uBrute, Shapeshifter) controlled via MIDI and sequenced using Reason10 with RPG-8 Arpeggiator and Distributor REs.
