I stumbled upon this piece while listening through the Magnus Archives and I immediately googled the composer. Love it, especially the beginning and the ending!

The heavy beat and percussion perfectly capture the image of a headstrong band of adventurers clomping through their world.

do you still have the version from the magnus archives deadlands special? i think its in a minor key with alot of distorted sound?

Really enjoyed your piece Sam. So many colors and textures. I loved your use of harpsicord and woodwinds. The pizzicato with the piano was an especially nice touch. It added a splash of delicasy to the piece. Awesome work and thank you for sharing =)

This month’s mixtape theme was ‘Adventure’ so you know I had to do a tribute to The Adventure Zone podcast. This mix is over 30 continuous minutes of good good tunes with funny clips from the show woven into it. It roughly follows the show from beginning to the final lunar interlude, but it’s still spoiler free. Sam is a composer and orchestrator based in London, UK, specialising in contemporary orchestral writing.

As a composer, he has worked on a number of award-winning films and animations. He has also written music for theatre, podcasts and art installations.

As orchestrator, Sam has had the privilege of working on a number of high-profile projects, both in film and television, working with composers Jóhann Jóhannsson, Lorne Balfe, Michael Price and Maurizio Malagnini.
