The machine gathers all your happy memories, and combines them to make a dream, for humans to escape from the harsh outside reality. This song is basically a representation of that dream. Hence the name “Simulated Dream”. The first few seconds, where the music gradually speeds up is a representation of the machine starting the dream, and then the dream starts and the song goes from menacing sounding to happy, because the dream has started. Throughout the song you will hear moments when the song stutters slightly, or repeats a note. This represents the machine switching to another memory, and the song changes.
