Last night I dreamt the world had undergone a severe sandstorm wiping out most of civilisation. I walked through the city to see the sand lapping up against the sides of skyscrapers. The first thing I noticed in the sand dunes of the city was the tops of formerly massive trees, my feet slipping and sliding. They looked like shrubs but I was actually high in the air. They looked like pemmican trees, from medieval times. Some were tall and fluffy, while some were like slender stumps. I saw the top of a traffic light emerging from the sand, a bird sat on top of it looking at me funny. I walked some more and found a taller looking tree that must have been mighty before the sandstorm. On closer inspection this one was not a tree, I saw in the leaf the form of the evolutionary chain of humans, starting as a seedling and sprouting outwards. They were our closest friends and we were able to use them as human food. I remember making a small kidney out of a piece of wood. It was fully functional and deceptively strong. What kind of people would use this strong object?
