After the success of the first A-sides compilation in 2012, Adam Beyer has decided its time to release another. With Adam's stature steadily growing as one of the leading talents in the Techno scene and the rise of Drumcode, the standard of demo's that have been sent to Adam have been top notch. Adam has now decided to release two compilations with 10 tracks on each, both consisting of tracks that Adam has tried and tested. There are also new artists that have been invited to release on Drumcode for this compilation and others who are a staple in Drumcode's core family. Combining both old and new talents Drumcode have come up with something unique and distinctive to make this two-part compilation something extra special.

Jel Ford kicks off his return EP with two tracks of clean big room techno. The title track ‘Backyard’ is a moody affair with a low drone throughout that is complimented with layered synth stabs. Using reverb to create atmosphere within the track it subtly breaks down before a vocal hook transcends the track to deliver a killer blow. ‘Meeting of Minds’ is dubbier and uses a tripped out synth to add rhythm whilst working alongside a synth pattern to keep the track chugging along. The slow evolving pads add texture and keep the track nicely filled out whilst this timeless classic keeps on giving.

Kicking off with the trashy and euphoric “Into the light". This dancefloor smasher sounds reminiscent of the late 80’s and features a deep bass that blows sound systems balls off. Melodic elements creep up and rap you up in a lush smiley faced blanket.
Second up we hear a new side from the unique trio  “Don’t let the shadow” , featuring a Berhain-esk drive, this beast lets loose beginning to end and really shows off their darker side.

Neil Malkan, rising progressive house producer from India, makes his debut on our label with the release Collider. The original track is driven by dark basslines and a hypnotic lead throughout, delivering a powerful journey on the dancefloor. The release also features two remixes with a mature sound: Will DeKeizer (US) adds his deep and driving touch, while Greg Tomaz (India) strips it back with a refined, progressive rework. Together, the EP showcases versatility and marks a strong debut for Neil on the Shady&Friends roster.

After appearing on A-Sides Volume 4 at the start of 2016, Ilario Alicante now makes his full debut on the label. He has quickly established himself as a key player amongst a new crop of techno artists and truly is one of the brightest stars in the game. His skills behind the decks have seen him tour the globe with Cocoon, as well as appear at the likes of elrow, Lovefest and We Are FSTVL.

Opening with ‘Times’, the EP gets off to a flying start as the track rages straight into top gear, rolling through 6 minutes of pure power. This is a peak time tool that is set to be heard across dance floors worldwide this year. ‘Awakened’ you may have heard from Adam Beyer’s sets of late, a firm favourite which gets his much sought after seal of approval. Rampant syths and mesmerizing vocal hooks all make it one hell of a journey. ‘Sense’ is a more industrial affair, chunky basslines take your hand through the track as it charges on. It’s that classic deep Ilario Alicante sound we all know and love. The EP finishes off on ‘Apogeo’, with its hypnotic siren tones and acute percussion. Not many artists are lucky enough to release a track that defies genre classification and reaches into mainstream culture, with people enthusiastically embracing its melody and adopting it as if it were a football anthem.
His track “Rave” has become an instant classic, a timeless piece of music gaining more than 100 million streams (becoming the most clicked Techno track ever).
Since 1996, a landmark year for him thanks to the worldwide success of his track “Zoe” produced as Paganini Traxx, Sam Paganini’s stylistic experimentations have gone from strength to strength, leading him to collaborate and release his music on several record labels like Plus8, Cocoon Recordings and Drumcode, reaching the highest spots on Beatport’s Techno Chart several times. His unique musical journey has achieved great success both on the underground circuit as well as on the mainstream channels.
In 2016 Sam founded his own record label JAM as a new platform to play out his vision of techno music. At first an outlet for his own productions releasing 3 albums and nowadays also a platform to discover new talented Artists.
Beside his studio work and production time, Sam’s DJ appearances are among the most requested by promoters worldwide: his sets are characterized by powerful grooves and have been described as “Sexy Groovy Dark Techno”, which speaks volumes, literally, on what to expect from his performances.
