3 QUESTIONS to DOMINIK EULBERG:

Q: From bird sounds to early rave classic - how did you meet the bass, Dominik?

A: I was asked to create a mix with the music which socialized me. Music did not interest me in my childhood. Nature was my music: the rustling of leaves, the splashing of streams, the chirping of grasshoppers and of course the opulent concert of birds. The melancholy piping of the blackbird was my first earworm. Only the electronic music aroused my deep interest, fascinated me with a research-driven curiosity. In 1993 I started DJing. To capture both of my great sources of inspiration, I've decided to create a two-hour melange of my favorite bird songs and my favorite picks from 1993 and 1994. 

Q: You´re travelling all over the planet for about two decades yet. How do you manage your stressful tourlife and calming down the weekdays after so many years?

A: Nature is not only my great source of inspiration, but also an inexhaustible source of energy to recharge my batteries. Therefore I live in her, directly on a wonderful nature reserve. For me nature is the easiest, healthiest and most cost-effective way to happiness. I only need binoculars to broaden my horizons. So I can immerge in the contemplative experience of nature for hours and get into deep resonance with our true home.
 
Q: Which future Eulberg projects are on the way - what are you currently working on?

A: I’m writing a sensitization for nature book for the renowned Fischer Verlag, creating a photo book with insect focus-stacking macros, working on a butterfly card game, creating Remix-EPs for my current album Mannigfaltig, working on the soundtrack for a cinema nature-documentary, designing a bat sound installation with the Chaos Computer Club and produce a new EP.

Dear people,

we decided to publish the set from Cologne. The set is not very good in terms of mixing. That annoys me most of us, but I won't shorten or cut anything out because I don't think I'm a DJ who would ever think of pressing the sync-button. I am not perfect as we all cannot be perfect. In addition, the monitor-boxes could not be operated at full power because there were residents around and you know that the most important thing about our music is the loud volume. "Calma Calma" dear music-police!
It is also not easy to play music these days as the most important thing is missing from such streams - which is You. You as a crowd. I miss your smile, your closed eyes dancing and now and then the little tear. Everything I see in front of me is nothing. This is strange and not complete for me.
I am very grateful for all the feedback from around the world. That left me very speechless here in little Weimar. Think of your clubs, your festivals, your newspapers, your labels, your record stores, your DJs and your musicians. They all gave and give you the food (music).

ROBAG WRUHME COLOGNE STREAM MAI 2020

An emblematic artist of the Palestinian underground scene, SAMA’ is one of the first DJs and electronic music producers to emerge from the region. Her sound, an original punchy kind of techno, is dry and musical all at once and has quickly made its way across Europe and beyond.
 
SAMA, meaning ‘sky’ in Arabic, started mixing in 2006 in parties around Ramallah, Palestine. Several years later she started producing her own music and expanding her interest in synthesis in 2010, with a focus on techno, house, and other deeper sub-genres of electronic music.
 
The artist graduated from the United Kingdom with a BSc in Audio Engineering and Music Production, then moved to Cairo where she worked as a sound designer for film, became a music producer and then instructor. SAMA’ now runs her own Audio Engineering & Sound Design company working across films and documentaries in the Middle East. In 2017, she was selected as a Laureate by the French Institute, and during that time attended a residency at the International City of Arts in Paris. SAMA’ also runs a publishing company called Awyav, representing independent artists from the Arab world.
 
In late 2018, SAMA’s Boiler Room performance and the associated documentary about the scene in Palestine went viral and more and more people are seeing that music has no boundaries. SAMA’ was recently listed in SheSaid.So’s Alternative Power 100 List, and plays a high-profile set at Ibiza’s World Heritage Site of Dalt Vila for the International Music Summit in late May. She is currently working on a studio album.
